Cant ask “hey, is there a sample on you pending results?” ANYBODY would ask the player that. Or his agent. It requires a minimum baseline amount of common sense—not some special “calling” Exactly. I can’t understand how there isn’t a process to clear a player through the NFL’s front office before he’s signed. There isn’t a league office / dept that has this info on file? They test, their should be a process to verify before a contract is completed. This shouldn’t be difficult. Edited March 14 by PayDaBill$ Quote

I can't fault him for signing a guy who had a sterling record to this point and wasn't aware that it was coming. It's definitely unfortunate given that the DT market is barren at this point. He knew he was breaking the rules. He just didn't know he had been caught. 1 Quote

It's a weird, kind of embarrassing, and definitely less than ideal situation. I agree with you. Beane seemed embarrassed in his presser. I also think it'll be forgotten about by Monday. The idea that the whole league is laughing at us or that it's this giant black eye that warrants firing Brandon Beane...it's just prisoner of the moment stuff, in my opinion. It sucks, its ugly, and no one's happy about it. I just think people are making it even bigger than THAT and acting like its some epic referendum on Brandon Beane and like...okay...sure. If that's how you feel, then that's your prerogative. Just as it's my prerogative to think that's silly. And the Hoecht situation is probably what made him available at that price. I don't know that that one is embarrassing, he knew about it and it was calculated into the price of the contract I'm sure...plus it opens up a roster spot at the start of year to keep an extra player. Like I'm confused on what's embarrassing about any of this? The Larry O situation stinks, but again, how is it embarrassing? It sucks that he's on a one year deal for sure and the contract was agreed on before the info came out...but at the same time, that frees up more money for a potential trade since I'm gonna assume the Bills aren't on the hook salary cap wise for the games they are suspended for (which could also mean they have the cap space to take on dead cap to trade an existing player, which could make things interesting). 1 Quote
TBBills Fan Posted March 14 Posted March 14 (edited) The Larry thing reminds me of when I call in Sick. Yeah, just woke up feeling like this, sorry boss. I was fine yesterday. Edited March 14 by TBBills Fan 1 2 Quote

HardyBoy Posted March 14 Posted March 14 When do the bills get the cap relief? This season or next season? Quote

BuffaloBill Posted March 14 Posted March 14 The Bills still eat the cap impact even though the players do not get paid. 1 Quote

Success Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Like we won't go 5-1 anyway. We need guys in the playoffs. 2 Quote
