It's outright HILARIOUS, is what it is.

Beane also seemed very embarrassed in his press conference.

But "this is the last straw, let's fire him"? C'mon, man. Ridiculous.

If the Ogunjobi thing hadn't happened. If it was just "hey, we signed a guy for three years but he's gonna start out with a six game suspension", it would be odd, but for the most part, people wouldn't think too much of it. This stuff happens in the NFL. The fact that it then happened with Ogunjobi right afterwords is what makes it a weird and embarrassing situation.

But again...a fireable offense? Preposterous.

Isn't this more on the league tho? How is the information not already available?

different type of player and may have no interest in Buffalo….but Calais Campbell

I wouldn't be opposed for a season as added insurance. But i'd be surprised. I know he's still performing at a decent level. But I think most teams are *very* hesitant to sign a guy who turns 39 this year - regardless of how he looked last year.

Ok but at some point he has to get his act together during The Window.  Last year’s draft was a critical draft for him given all of the vet departures and his first three picks did not make serious contributions during the season (Keon was ok until the injury).  This offseason they have some cap space to use and spaces to fill but so the overall haul has been expensive and underwhelming.  He needs to stop treading water and start taking bigger swings to maximize Allen.

Bro, I put more care into my Amazon packages than he does for players that he’s paying tens of millions of dollars for.. He didn’t check this out with the league before he signed these guys? Really?

You think that these guys would hire PI’s to comb through these guy’s backgrounds before they pay them this kind of money.. I’m dumbfounded..

And I’m not going to go tit for tat with you over Beane’s blunders, but this isn’t the only time he’s royally screwed up.

This is so embarrassing for our organization.

You clearly didn't listen to Brandon Beane's press conference or read any summaries of it.

He said that Hoecht TOLD the Bills about his upcoming suspension. The Bills were fully aware of it and decided to sign him anyway.

He said that Ogunjobi's suspension news didn't come in until during/after the contract signing process, at which point he told the team immediately.

So they DID know about Hoecht. And they COULDN'T have known about Ogunjobi because it hadn't yet happened. He was a Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee just last year and has a spotless NFL resume with no previous suspensions. What exactly was a "PI" supposed to uncover about such a player?

If you disagree with the decisions to go ahead with signing these guys after learning of the pending suspensions, then fine. But saying "he didn't check this out with the league" or talking about hiring PIs shows me that you're reacting without even having watched/listened to/read what Beane had to say about the situation.

AJE breathing a lot easier now … no chance of him being traded this off-season

With the amount of dlineman that are about to be drafted by buffalo, none of the backups or even daquan are safe

I agree but he is the exception. His play hasn’t dropped off and he was only 2 million for Miami last year

would be big time value for us at that price

What information?

In Beane's press conference, he said that Ogunjobi got his test results back directly from the testing office and was notified of his positive result before the league even found out. Ogunjobi then notified Beane of it, Beane then called the league, and the league was not even yet aware of it.

Worst part is by the time they catch up to McDs playbook standards they will see they will finally see the field the following season

What in the name of......?

This amateurish. Which for all that I have criticised some of Beane's evaluations and roster building is not a word I have ever associated with him before. This is old Bills behaviour. Not the buttoned up, professional outfit we have been.

Really, really disappointing.

Hoecht he knew about and felt it was worth it, since he's signing him long term. Ogunjobi he didn't. I can't fault him for signing a guy who had a sterling record to this point and wasn't aware that it was coming. It's definitely unfortunate given that the DT market is barren at this point.

That's what I'm saying how is this information not available and done before the start of the new Year? The timing doesn't make sense from a league standpoint.

How is the league not aware of the test?

I don't understand

I gotta see who they draft first .., last year they walked away with 1 WR when they had a huge need and in one of the best classes in years at the position ..
