They knew about Hoecht but not Ogunjobe? Bizarre.
 

Why would you sign him anyways? Either this means DT/DE is still on the table in the draft, or we are extremely confident in who we have to start the season.

Hoecht's contract numbers already looked high to begin with. This news makes those numbers almost shocking. Just a bizarre story.

If they didn't know about Ogunjobi, why wouldn't they just not sign him?

I like Beane, but wouldn’t he have had to know this was coming before signing these guys?  This is a huge failure on his part.  Now we know why Jones and AJE are still on the team, but this is a pretty big black eye for the organization.
