It's not criticism it's fact, he has been abysmal, bottom of the barrel in the league in the run and pass game. All you have to do is a little research bud. What insurance does a guy who has limited skillset do for "insurance"? Just curious.

Prove me wrong then.

You are confusing your opinion for fact ..: this is quite clearly not the case ..
I’ll start my research right now … who do you want as the CB3 instead ?

It's hard to be angry about picking up a guy you know can hold it down at CB2. I expect one of our top 3 picks to be CB but now it's no longer *such* a glaring position of need.

Pick up a double gapping 1 tech and we are ready for the draft

If he could hold down the job why did we trade for Douglas when we did? To me we picked up a guy who couldn’t get the job done when he was here the first time. A guy who let us down in big moments. A guy who play in the playoffs was worse then regular season.

This doesn’t improve our team because he’s a solid player, it improves right now because we have low numbers at CB. Play wise we are screwed

Because they wanted to get better ? Douglas was very good in 2023… fell off the proverbial cliff in 2024 though ..

People have short memories.

Dane was not good.

He wasn't bad either.

Like any corner, there are going to be things he does well and things he struggles with.

If the Bills recognize the need to get their corners up and play physically to force QB's to hold the ball for more than two seconds, he'll probably be OK.

If they ask him to play on his heels against bigger, faster players he's probably going to struggle.

Whichever the case, I am doubtful whether he is actually going to be the starter in Week 1.

That’s fair.

I think that’s exactly what they’re going for (based on the coaching hires this offseason).

I would respectfully disagree.

He did "fine".  But we know who he is.

If somehow he starts,  Or he has to play because of injury which is very probable at some point, We are getting a mediocre player inserted in the lineup

I would rather someone with some upside/traits personally. (Not Elam though lol)

Yea because the draft already happened and free agency is over…..relax bruh! 🙄

Good, a good guy to have as a backup and such.

Likely still knows this defense as well as any DB on the team.

Now, hopefully they get a starting caliber CB in a trade or free agency, as they don't want to go into the draft with the CBs they have now, especially if Douglas leaves.

Seems Douglas may be the best option out there now actually. But maybe it's Gilmore instead, a homecoming?

Did Dane play special teams?

He did when he wasn't starting. As a starter they mostly took him off Teams.

I don't know about Carolina.

I'd love Gilmore on a one year deal. That way we could use one of our 2nds on a CB. I'm dead set on a defensive lineman with the 1st. If we go CB there, BillFromNYC and myself are gonna blow this entire place up😂😆🤣

I view him as a depth signing.  The Bills really need to hope they can find a starter in the draft.

That’s what he is.  Idiots will be idiots.

I'm 100 percent relaxed bud lol.

Dane will most likely be in competition for a starting role with a corner they draft in one of their first 3 picks.

You're in disagreement with that?

To clarify, he was really bad last year though.    123.9 passer rating?  Yikes.  And  I can't remember seeing a 33 pff rating for a CB before.   Seems purdy washed.
