WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago It's hard to be angry about picking up a guy you know can hold it down at CB2. I expect one of our top 3 picks to be CB but now it's no longer *such* a glaring position of need. Pick up a double gapping 1 tech and we are ready for the draft Quote

biggerdaddynj Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Makes sense especially with what’s left. I was starting to get worried that we’d be re-signing Douglas because that would “make sense” too (despite the clear decline of play last year). Knew we weren’t in the market for one of the top CBs because we can’t pony up big cash on a multi-year deal due to the looming potential extension of Benford (based on the deals they signed none of the better CBs would’ve had to take a one year deal). So, it is what it is. Beane and Company better nail a very good CB in the draft because we’re going to need one “long term” CB on a rookie deal so the other one can be a top CB. I have no doubt the bills are gonna go cb in rounds 1 or 2 Honestly I see this as insurance against another "gotta take a CB oh ***** we got jumped and took the guy we liked let's try this Elam guy" scenario Quote

I swear I saw this on my Twitter feed yesterday, then came over here to read about it, since TBD always breaks the news early, but didn't see anything. I went back to Twitter and couldn't find it. Weird. There was a false report by AirRaid on Twitter that was a joke. It was from 2023. I and a couple others fell for it, much to my embarrassment. I have since unfollowed AirRaid. 2 Quote

I know for a fact there were conversations this time last year before the contract adjustment and the Bills and his reps were miles apart. as i mentioned a few times from what i take from what i was given the Bills made offers to pretty much every pending FA on good faith that they can sign it then, test the market, and have some time to consider it. i'm sure there was a deadline to sign it - for obvious reasons this is essentially required. it makes me curious to what exactly was offered to Douglas, Cook, Morris, Cooper. I'd assume it was not "fair market value" in the literal sense and hope and presume it was more "value to this team, adjusted," of course. By that I mean, the value against fair market to where this team is going and what it wants to accomplish based on who that player is and what they have done for the team and process. Quote

Go to the 5:35 mark. He absolutely destroyed alec ingold. Dane Jackson is a solid zone heavy cb and one of the most physical dbs we have. He's extremely tough We are still drafting multiple CBS. He's exactly the type of db and football player I want on this team. Players with his temperament are a big reason we beat Baltimore and out physical teams Quote
krf139 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago This guy is the opposite of someone who makes splash plays. Plays super conservative and by the book, without athleticism. Yuck Quote
sven233 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Not a surprising move in the least. Obviously, none of us want him starting, but as a depth option, sure. All signs point to drafting CB2 next month, providing Beane picks the right guy and we don't end up with another Elam. This does have me wondering what is going to happen with Tre. Does he want to play? Is he really that shot that nobody wants to sign him? Is he looking to find a starting role? If he signs somewhere for backup money, I think even with the injuries he may have been a better option than Dane as a depth CB (wouldn't want him starting either). Maybe not, though. Maybe he truly is done. 1 Quote

Good CBs are hard to find. Bills have 2 of the 3 covered already. Find 1 more and things are OK. 2 of 3? Quote

It's not criticism it's fact, he has been abysmal, bottom of the barrel in the league in the run and pass game. All you have to do is a little research bud. What insurance does a guy who has limited skillset do for "insurance"? Just curious. 4 minutes ago, Simon said: Ignore him. His "analysis" is 100% a giant load of horseshlt. Prove me wrong then. Jackson also saved a td in the 13 seconds game with a critical tackle in the 4th qtr which allowed us to take the lead. He's a decent player man. Again they're drafting multiple CBS regardless Edited 6 hours ago by Kelly to Allen Quote
