I expect one of our top 3 picks to be CB but now it's no longer *such* a glaring position of need. Pick up a double gapping 1 tech and we are ready for the draft If he could hold down the job why did we trade for Douglas when we did? To me we picked up a guy who couldn’t get the job done when he was here the first time. A guy who let us down in big moments. A guy who play in the playoffs was worse then regular season. This doesn’t improve our team because he’s a solid player, it improves right now because we have low numbers at CB. Play wise we are screwed Quote

Like any corner, there are going to be things he does well and things he struggles with. If the Bills recognize the need to get their corners up and play physically to force QB's to hold the ball for more than two seconds, he'll probably be OK. If they ask him to play on his heels against bigger, faster players he's probably going to struggle. Whichever the case, I am doubtful whether he is actually going to be the starter in Week 1. 1 Quote
Success Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Personally, I always liked Dane. Great tackler. I'm sure we'll draft someone in the 1st couple of rounds too. Quote

I think that’s exactly what they’re going for (based on the coaching hires this offseason). Quote

If somehow he starts, Or he has to play because of injury which is very probable at some point, We are getting a mediocre player inserted in the lineup I would rather someone with some upside/traits personally. (Not Elam though lol) Yea because the draft already happened and free agency is over…..relax bruh! 🙄 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I view him as a depth signing. The Bills really need to hope they can find a starter in the draft. 1 1 Quote
TheBeaneBandit Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Did Dane play special teams? If he does that alone makes him much more valuable than Elam in itself. Quote
Mister Defense Posted March 14 Posted March 14 (edited) Good, a good guy to have as a backup and such. Likely still knows this defense as well as any DB on the team. Now, hopefully they get a starting caliber CB in a trade or free agency, as they don't want to go into the draft with the CBs they have now, especially if Douglas leaves. Seems Douglas may be the best option out there now actually. But maybe it's Gilmore instead, a homecoming? Edited March 14 by Mister Defense Quote

I'm dead set on a defensive lineman with the 1st. If we go CB there, BillFromNYC and myself are gonna blow this entire place up😂😆🤣 1 1 Quote
TheBrownBear Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Good player. Knows the system. I like it. Now, let's just hope he doesn't get popped for PEDs. Quote

Dane will most likely be in competition for a starting role with a corner they draft in one of their first 3 picks. You're in disagreement with that? Edited March 14 by BillsFan130 Quote
BADOLBILZ Posted March 14 Posted March 14 1 hour ago, Simon said: He wasn't bad either. To clarify, he was really bad last year though. 123.9 passer rating? Yikes. And I can't remember seeing a 33 pff rating for a CB before. Seems purdy washed. Quote

He was a serviceable starting corner here and he parlayed it into a nice payday for himself. You act as if his tenure here he was a below average cornerback which he wasn’t! Quote
