I really want them to go back to 15:00 OT quarters instead of 10:00. It's stupid and makes no sense. And for the love of God, Eliminate the onside kick. I have been in favor of the 4th & 15 play from the 30 or 35 yard line. The onside kick, especially with the new rules of no surprise onside is just an automatic game over for the kicking team. A 4th & 15 at least gives them a a somewhat better chance

I think it should be 4th and 20 I think 4th and 15 will be to easy for some teams

this needs to still be a challange to get I don’t like the idea of teams getting two late scores to steal games

Why can’t the NFL just admit that the NCAA has figured out the OT thing and implement that.

I actually don’t like that they call it overtime, since it’s untimed. But outside of semantics, it’s score and keep the other team from scoring - that’s kinda the point of football.

I’m fine having ties without OT then in winning PCT it’s a half win/ half loss.

other option…both gets half win/ half loss then winner in OT gets a half win.  Then winning pct will sort playoffs.  Or follow soccer/ international hockey with 3 pts for reg win, 2 for ot win, 1 for OT loss, 0 fir reg loss

4th and 15 isn't that easy. It's one down to get 15 yards. And if you don't want a team getting 2 late scores to steal games, stop them. The whole argument of "that team dominated for 75% of the game so the other team should have a harder time of winning it" is stupid. If a team is up by 21 late and let's up 2 TDs or 2 TDs and a FG in the 4th quarter, and now the other team has a chance with a minute or 2 left, that's their problem. Now they have to stop them again on 4th &15 from the 30. I'm all for it

Thw technology to spot exactly where the ball is has existed in tennis for a long time as well as in soccer. There must be a way to make it work in the NFL so we get rid of the refs pretty much just saying ”this seems about right”.

That technology is a type of vision sensor (a sophisticated camera).  It can be very accurate but must have a clear sight of the line and the ball.

In football the players would interfere with its sight.

Chips in the footballs sound simple but it's not easy.  Passive (non-powered) chips would not be accurate.

Powered chips would need a battery and could be used but they need to be triangulated.

An array of sensors would need to be around the field and that could be done but these types of systems have to ping the sensors in the

balls.  Sensors like these that I have used have a response time.  Typically, about 100ms (one tenth of a second).  The ball could move quite a

bit in that time.  I'm sure higher speed ones can be found but they wouldn't be cheap.

A football field is a big area.  We used these sensors in much tighter spaces.  If a system like this that would be accurate enough can

be found I sure would love to see how it works!

My regular season OT solution.

1 full 15 minute time period with a halftime at the 7:30 mark. No first team scores. Assures both teams get the ball. If it ends in a tie at the end of the 15, it was meant to be.

So your saying a 2nd kickoff at 7:30 and play until the 15 mins is done ?

I like giving the replay assist more power on clear calls. I also like pushing the touchback up to 35 yards so that teams actually kick in the landing zone so that they have more kickoff returns. OT rules in the regular season seem fine tweaks seem not needed. Technology to spot the ball if they could do it fine that's a positive.
