oldmanfan Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Too bad it didn’t work out. Beanie’s one big mistake. Quote

Beane has not been amazing in the drafts but the Elam pick might be the worst as it was clearly a panicked pick after McDuffie got swooped by KC 1 Quote
Mark92 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Brandon Beane can sell, that is the absolute truth. The minute he had to come into the AFC Championship Game the Bills were done. The whole league saw it, yet he still found a buyer. Edited 10 hours ago by Mark92 Quote

We have the 1st pick in the 6th Round. So if we moved that for one of Dallas' comps - it really is like nothing. Im more happier saving the $2.5m of guaranteed money tbh Quote

It wasn’t for lack of trying though - he just was not a very good fit for the defense. With that being said, I do feel bad for this young man. After the playoff win against Pittsburgh where he struggled but redeemed himself a bit with a pick. You thought that maybe it would give him the confidence to turn the corner. But in the locker room he sarcastically said something like “I’m just a bust.” That really showed where his mindset was. I think this is a pick you almost certainly put on Brandon Beane…or whoever was responsible for drafting him. Not only did they draft him in round one but they traded up. Just terrible all around. The redeeming part is that he did find a starting CB in R6, but man - imagine if both CB’s were good. The funny thing is that at one time there was an “Elam hive” of fans who believed McDermott didn’t like Elam and that’s why he wasn’t getting reps. Then they watched him play…the hive went silent! DrDawkinstein Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I heard Beane was able to get a 5th and a 7th out of Dallas because he opened negotiations asking for Jerry's favorite salt shaker. Jerry was willing to part with anything but that. Quote

This whining is getting to me but BEANE SHOULD'VE MADE THE METCALF TRADE!!! If we are going to pretend, I’m going to pretend the first and sixth round picks were both home runs. Better for my mentals. Quote

Logic Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago So is the 5th round of this year's draft like...JUST the Bills now? In all seriousness, getting a 6th for 5th pick swap AND a future 7th for Elam is a huge win. Thank God for Jerruh "glory hole" Jones! 1 Quote

Bruffalo Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Good luck to him. I'm surprised anyone was willing to give up anything, honestly. Elam couldn't figure it out with some of the best defensive CB coaching in the league, in a system that many have regarded as too simple and risk adverse. I don't think he's going to turn it around with a change of scenery. Quote
MasterStrategist Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Was not expecting this!!! Huge benefit just to dump that salary. Hope Elam does well there, but not expecting it. Now, we can grab a vet and a draft pick within our 53 man roster. Quote
