He is a good run game blocker, important to those teams. He’s a shadow of his greatness but high character. I think the market will be soft for him like other older vet WRs. D-hop got a one year deal, he will likely get the same. I'm just not sold on the notion he is a shadow. Over priced, getting old and not quite as good...high cap hit....sure. But the sample size of him sucking is very small. 1 1 Quote

Like playing slots, you are gambling with some of these guys, but if they outperform their norms and/or stay healthy when they haven't, there is the chance to score big. Quote

You can only have 53 players. So Kupp wouldn’t be our top outside receivers because of Coleman and Palmer and at best he is our 3rd slot behind Shakir and Samuel. Maybe 2a/b with Samuel cause they’re both always hurt. Still, Samuel has more explosiveness at this point so I’ll stick with my guys. Kupp will end up in Seattle or NE to help depleted WR rooms and QBs who are good but need help. We don’t need him in Buffalo, especially at this point of his career, which is clearly declining. 1 2 2 Quote

Jimmy Harris 69 Posted March 13 Posted March 13 The Bills need speed and they need it on a rookie contract, not Cooper Kupp. They should have drafted him instead of Zay Jones, but Jones was some coach’s kid and blah blah blah. Too late. 2 Quote

Thrivefourfive Posted March 13 Posted March 13 If he came in healthy, he would light it up until he gets re injured. That’s probably how I see it for him this season, wherever he is. Quote

He’s so fast, but he’s never been used as a straight line deep downfield guy, but he certainly could be. He’s played on 3 different teams now over a few years. If he was capable as a deep receiver, I believe he would’ve been used that way already. 2 1 Quote

While I don’t think that he comes here, the thought that he would play behind Coleman/Palmer is ridiculous. Kupp would be the Bills number 1 WR immediately. He’s not a perfect fit but, if you extrapolate out his numbers over 17 games from last year, it’s 95 catches on 142 targets, 1,006 yards, 9 TDs. He’s not the player that he was a few years ago, but as good or better than anyone on the roster currently. The problem is he’s primarily a slot. He could play outside though. The price tag likely isn’t worth it unless he accepts a short term “prove it” deal like Bosa. Edited March 13 by Kirby Jackson 2 Quote

Older WR that is slowing down who was once a great separator and probably is more likely a Toby Keith song than an actual weapon on the outside. Extrapolate all you want, the reality he isn’t playing 17-21 games in a season. I’d rather get younger and more explosive than older and fading. 2 Quote

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I wouldn’t waste your time on thinking about this. It’s almost a certainty he will be in New England. Quote

Strikes me as unlikely, but you are right— who knows? Quote
Low Positive Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Cooper Kupp may be a former Superbowl MVP, but is he even the best Cooper? I mean, Cooper Newby-Stock read a whole 24-chapter book. Has Cooper Kupp ever read a 24-chapter book? Quote

Last 8 weeks of the season including playoffs - 18 catches for 252 yards and 1 TYD. That is basically averaging 2 catches for 30 yards per game. And those were meaningful games LAR need to make the playoffs. The BUF game was his best game...take that out and the numbers look even worse. In 5 of 8 of the games he had under 30 yards... Quote
Jerome007 Posted March 13 Posted March 13 That year he won the Triple Crown and Superbowl MVP has to be the best year ever by a WR in the history of the league. Somehow it's not talked a lot. But salary cap exists, so I don't think Beane will pursue him. BTW he is also a very good run bocker, and Hollins is gone... Can Kupp walk around barefoot? Quote
