He is now the fastest safety for the Bills, just a bit faster than Cole Bishop.  Rapp and Hamlin are sloth-like.  He came out of college needing to get stronger and more physical, but he's had time to develop, so he should be able to compete to start.

If he can't beat out Hamlin, he just not very good

1 year $1.3M

that makes sense.  He is this years Mike Edwards.  Edwards had a 1 year deal with 1.6m guaranteed

It might be a bit more than you anticipate because when I googled him I found a bunch of reports that had him practically already in a Dolphins jersey. We might have swooped in and outbid them twice in one night.

Okay , that would be pretty cool if Beane's team pulled that stunt off over Miami :)

Thanks Low !
From what I have been reading is enough to tell me there is some good competition back there this offseason for starter positions. And sounds like this kid might have a physical advantage be a great package fit in a rotation ?

So , I approve.

I hope we get a good bit more out of this guy than we did Mike. It's also a prove it season for him..

Might be a bargain ? As he is a bit of an unknown for last two years of tape.

McD knows his secondary and how to get solid production from most anyone 🙄

How many safeties do the Bills dress on game day ?

Not where @Sweats works.    😂

Damn, how did that get in my head?

We added another piece. We’ll see how he’s used and if he can be more of the FS. We have a long way to go before the opener.

While I am not going to sit here and pretend I feel like our Safety woes are just instantly solved, but it does seem this kid has potential to be a Poyer-esque like signing.  Where a change of scenery and opportunity helped Poyer be the best player he could be, and this regime has a strong track record when it comes to the secondary.  He brings speed, youth, and potential starter on a low risk type deal.

Maybe I'm just grumpy today but I feel like we now have 4 mediocre safeties - great depth but no excellence.

But I really hope you're right with the Poyer comparison.

You are not grumpy, you're just being accurate as to what they are today.  But where I would counter with some optimism, is 2 of our safeties have potential to be more than that in Bishop and Forrest.
