NoSaint Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Cheap, experience, reason to believe in upside…. he could be nothing but it’s zero risk and high reward like it 5 1 Quote

But where I would counter with some optimism, is 2 of our safeties have potential to be more than that in Bishop and Forrest. It's sort of like the way it works is Beane and McDermott keep throwing guys out there who have the potential to do what McDermott wants, and they will keep doing it until they find guys who can do it. That's what happened with Hyde and Poyer and that's what they've tried with Rapp and that's now what they're trying with Forrest and Bishop. That's two decent safeties, and maybe more. 2 Quote

NewEra Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Love these kind of signings. Zero risk with solid upside possibilities. Possibly Poyer 2.0 2 2 Quote
MrEpsYtown Posted March 13 Posted March 13 His college highlights are fun. In there he plays strong, free, and some nickel. 1 Quote

It does appear to be a retry of spaghetti on the safety wall and see if a pair sticks. Quote

They have two guys with the potential to be a solid pair or better. They will be pleased but not surprised if the pasta sticks. Quote
Maine-iac Posted March 13 Posted March 13 We have a lot of safeties who can play fine in a 2 high shell or zone. Tell me which one of our safeties is going to cover a slot WR in man because I can't think of once. Better teams will make that match up happen. Worthy had a field day and it wasn't all vs Elam. Hyde and Poyer both had that capability at one point. 1 Quote

Liking this signing, low risk high quality depth that could turn into a good effective starter. Quote

It’s going to be an interesting camp between the 4 safeties under contract. Hamlin has started 27 games as a Bill. Rapp has started 66 games and 18 as a Bill. Bishop started a few games as a rookie last year including in the playoffs. Forrest had 17 starts in 4 years in Washington. All 4 guys I can see arguments why they will or won’t be a starter in the fall. Should be one of the most interesting and contested camp battles. Edited March 13 by GASabresIUFan 2 1 Quote
Thrivefourfive Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Beane has a M’Fn list and he’s picking them off rapid fire. Tell me this dude doesn’t have a plan, since before the end of the season. Scouring the earth for OUR GUYS. Go get ‘em Beane! This is what they pay you for!! 2 Quote
YoloinOhio Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Sean + getting the absolute most out of safeties that fit his system regardless of pedigree = I predict this is a successful signing 1 1 Quote
FLFan Posted March 13 Posted March 13 17 hours ago, Augie said: Yeah, Hamlin may be small and slow for the job, but he’s fairly mistakes free other than taking bad angles because he’s not as fast as he seems to thinks he is. I sure hope they can coach Forrest up in coverage. We need help back there. Hamlin actually seems to have very good instincts for the position but simply does not have the athleticism to capitalize. He is an excellent backup I think. 3 Quote

If McBeane thinks he fits then it could be a steal Quote
Simon Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I don't know how this is going to work out, but I will say this after watching whatever clips I could find: This dude is a very, very smart ballplayer. 3 Quote
NI Bills Fan Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I'm sure this has been asked previously in the thread but haven't seen it in the last couple of pages... Is this guy more of a free safety or strong safety? Thanks Quote

But with Rapp and Bishop looking more comfortable the closer to the LOS of scrimmage they are, the Bills might view Forrest as a guy they want to slip into the Free. 2 Quote
