I think there's definitely conversations that go on that can be very close to tampering, and then there's just straight up offering a player terms.

Yeah, most GMs will have conversations but they will veil everything and be careful.

Common sense is to follow the rules because the penalties are lost draft picks and fines.

 

The burden of proof is on your side. Provide some evidence that it happens all the time and most teams do it. I think most teams do follow the rules and are careful what they say to who they might be courting, and the evidence backs that up because there are so few tampering allegations year to year.

Castrate Mahomes , and dock the Comanders their first round pick, i think that’s fair,

For reference purposes - last year the Falcons were stripped of a 5th round pick and fined 250k for Kirk Cousins supposed tampering. 

I think this is something to keep an eye on with the league. They will investigate but I actually wonder if the punishment would come in less than the Falcons because the tampering didn’t actually help them land the player.

The local Washington sports media is raising an eyebrow that the average age of Commanders free agent signings is 30.3.   Other than QB They are quickly getting to be an older team.  So Ronnie Stanley fits right into that age range.
