Strip the Chiefs of their 1st and take the Commanders 4th please

Most teams tamper ahead of time. Many of the "deals" agreed to on Monday had been done for days or even weeks. Let's be real here. But if it costs the Chiefs something I'm all for it.

Flag: false start

As a result of the play that negatively impacts the Chiefs, the Bills will be penalized 3 1st rounders, and a forced trade with KC in the next 2 drafts of 2nd round picks

The Patriots have also been awarded a 3rd round pick, as is tradition

Says who? That's just speculation. And that's a common fallacy that people who break the rules and the law use to justify their actions. If everyone is doing it, it makes it OK for me to do it. But there is not evidence that all the teams are breaking the rules.

This happens all the time.   The Bucs signed Reddick at 12:01.  No way you can call and get the numbers figured in one minute.   Just let this happen at the combine

There's a legal tampering period now.

To be fair, Bosa’s nose WAS in the neutral zone again.

You...you still believe in Santa Clause, don't you?

Its not really speculation though, I mean people no longer in the league, like former GM's, have alluded or even confirmed that this does go on.

I agree with you about how people justify it by saying everyone does it, and that also doesn't mean "all" teams or GM's do it.  But I would say it certainly does happen and probably at a higher frequency than people think.

It’s one thing if they’re taking to the agent. It happens more than you believe. Just like Brady and Stafford just happened to be at the same mountain range skiing. If they were directly communicating with the player I think both teams need to be docked a mid round pick. I think the Raiders should be too for the Stafford thing

@MJS is just very naive.   GM's can talk all they want to agents at any time.   And no agent is going to reveal that they were discussing some pending UFA's contract or availability whether it's in November or the days just prior to the free agency tampering window.   Kim Miale of Roc Nation is Stanley's agent.  Either Stanley is trying to sabotage Ravens rivals and going rogue on his agent figuring he doesn't need her anymore or the teams attempted to go around her.   Perhaps she and Stanley had a disagreement about him taking so much less to stay with Baltimore.   But teams OBVIOUSLY tamper with pending free agents all the time.

I think it does happen. For sure. But I think it happens less than people think. You have a few instances that get out to the press, like this, and people use that to assume that most teams are doing it all the time. That's just a leap in logic and not supported by anything.

You can believe that, but there is very little evidence that it happens all the time. It is just a conspiracy theory that fans like to propagate.

Well, Miami lost their 1st round pick and it was for less than this so I expect the Chiefs will be awarded with 16 compensatory picks in rounds 1-3 and the Commanders will lose a 2nd rounder.

I take the naive comment back.   It's common sense that you lack.😂

It seems highly unlikely that anyone is technically tampering. It’s a violation to discuss specific players, but I don’t think there’s any rule that says you can’t say “we’re budgeting $X to fill our LT position”.

Even if it's as common as speeding I still agree with your original point. And just like speeding it's there for good reason and there are degrees to it.

I think there's definitely conversations that go on that can be very close to tampering, and then there's just straight up offering a player terms.
