That means we're getting Asante Samuel Jr.

I don't know. Beane is the king of restructuring deals and doing nothing with the money

What are some examples?

Tons. I don't have them all in front of me. But there have been many times where we have restructured deals to open up cap space and people would say "oh, there's gotta be another signing coming" or "oh, they must be trying to resign this player" and very rarely happens. Most times they were just trying to become cap compliant

Take that Mahomes and Jones

I don’t think this necessarily means we’re adding a big name. Might have needed money for draft picks or emergency fund. We did spend a lot here recently

First, we have no real idea where the cap sits other than we are most likely under.

Need money for the draft class and in season moves for injury, etc.  We were way up against the cap a few seasons ago and had trouble with signing late season injury players. He won’t do that again.

But that's my point. People always assume it's for some player or resigning and it very rarely is. It's either to become cap compliant or make enough room to sign draft picks

Yes but so was Tre White and Kaiir Elam. Probably not as bad as Samuel though.

wait, did we get rid of Elam today?!?!?

Isn't he a poor tackler?

It's certainly not his strength.

He is at least willing, if a bit undersized.

If somebody can coach up his wrap and roll technique he would be just fine.

This was the first thing that popped into my head also.

The Bills always use their cap space. How have they done nothing with it in the past?

Hmm not happy to hear this. Beane doesn't restructure if he doesn't need to, and I was hoping that we could fit all players announced up to this point (including Bosa and Larry O) under cap thanks to Allen extension (which I guess lowers his cap hit by $20 or so million).

It seems that I was either wrong or he is signing another player.

Would love to hear even one. And becoming cap compliant was the reason for the restructure, not "doing nothing with the money" LOL
