Has anything changed about how you think the Bills will do after these FA signings?

Has this been enough make you feel we are closer to a superbowl?

I feel like were still at the same spot. Getting pressure on the QB is probably the more important thing we need on this team. I think it was somewhat addressed. I have no faith or confidence Bosa will be anywhere near his good years or even be healthy. 

My opinion is that coaching and playcalling is the thing that will either get us over the top or leave us disappointed again.

No I still think we are the best team in the AFC. It is promising that they are addressing the defensive line, the jury of course will remain out until we play some games. But recognizing that they have a problem is the first step and the Bills front office has certainly taken that step.

Still nervous about CB/WR. Palmer isn't a bad signing but he's not a big time difference maker, even if they add a 2nd round pick to the group I'm not sure that's good enough. CB there's still vets out on the market and draft options but I would rather go into the draft not "needing" a corner. Get a good to solid vet opposite Benford and draft another at pick 108 would be my philosophy.

I see them as about the same as they were. Bosa and Miller are a wash. Is Ogunjobi better than another DT, maybe but he's still not the anchor they have lacked inside. What is Hoecht on this team? Pass rushing DE? How many snaps is he going to see? How will they use him? Bosa is clearly marked for passing downs and they just paid Groot a lot of money so he should be in those too. Oliver isn't coming off the field so is the plan to slide Groot inside in those situations?

 

Is Palmer an upgrade over what they got from Amari Cooper? Maybe. For a guy who is open a lot he doesn't seem to have much production which is odd given that he's coming from a team with a good QB. He doesn't bring speed to the WR room and he's also not been healthy.

I think the Bills were one or two drives away from representing the AFC in the Super Bowl last year.

Since then, they've either held even or potentially even gotten a little better. They still have 10 draft picks to utilize and will surely sign more free agents. Young players like Cole Bishop and Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid should improve.

Oh...and the best quarterback on planet earth still wears Buffalo blue.

I feel good about the Buffalo Bills.

We still need to fill some holes, cornerback, a speedy receiver, safety. I sure hope they do whatever is necessary to move up and draft Golden

Not worried about the offense at all.  And looks like we have some guys on D that will be upgrades.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the free agent signings. I would've rather had Garrett and Metcalf, but understand their contracts were probably way too much. Get asante Samuel and/or Hendrickson and I'll be really excited

Word is Cincy wants a 1st plus for Hendrickson.  Not worth it at his age.  I'd rather use that 1st on either a space pig DT or a CB.

Before the start of free agency easier to ask for more.  Now most teams have cashed in, little money left to pay anyone, less interest so teams selling usually end up taking less.

Offense will start week one slightly better year over year 

 

defense still needs a CB… reason to believe safety is slightly better with potential upside

 

linebacker is flat but healthy 

 

DT flat to slight upgrade

 

DE upgraded but not sure how much or if enough

 

long story short- add a cb, draft BPA and we on paper should be better

It is a good draft class for D-line, I'm good with drafting a DT/NT in round 1/2 and drafting an edge in round 1/2. Two good young players will plug in for depth and development and I think with the vets brought in they will be fine there. CB is where I think the Bills will need to find a good vet in free agency so they aren't desperate in the draft for one.

I'm sure all the teams have illegally colluded and have contracts in place for next free agency. Good point.

Miller out, Bosa in -> upgrade

A. Johnson out, Ogunjobi in -> upgrade

Smoot out, Hoecht in -> upgrade

Forrest in -> too soon to tell

They are mostly upgrades on who they replace on the roster, but only small upgrades. I don’t think anything that will move the needle a lot.

 

We also have:

Hollins out

Jordan Phillips out

Q. Jefferson out

Martin out

Elam out

 

On paper we might be slightly worse than last year. We still don’t have a 2nd starting boundary CB, we appear to be running it back at safety which was our weakest positional group, and we could have a RB holdout on our hands.

 

But we do have a great offensive line and the reigning MVP.
