Yeah these guys like him and Gilliam are minimum salary benefit guys. This is too much. Save 2.4 million on the Elam trade then turn around and give it to Hamlin? Micro transactions that are not necessary. IMO

The vet min for 4 and 5 years in the NFL is 1.17 million so they really only gave Hamlin 830,000 over min salary and Gilliams numbers haven’t been released but I doubt he’s getting big money either. This is controlled by the CBA.

He did prove last year that he was a good depth player just incase I hope that they get another in this draft or the players they have on the team or that they have gotten in FA show that they are better and become starters over Hamlin and he can be help for the younger players ...

It looks like Damar’s 2 mil salary is fully guaranteed per spotrac so a safe bet to make the roster regardless of what they continue to add through the draft.

As a 4th safety sure. Starter? Absolutely not again

4th? He is a great 3rd safety and a good spot starter. You can do a lot worse than Hamlin.

Friendly reminder some folks tried to argue Hamlin was good and that the advanced metrics on this safety group were excellent and then Hamlin signed a 1 year near league minimum deal.

Jesus who tried to argue that? Our safety play was easily 32nd in the NFL in 2024.

There's a difference between Hamlin is good and our defense was better when he was in there.  I do actually think last years defense was better with Hamlin and Rapp than it was with Cole and Rapp.  Right or wrong it certainly wasn't something I'd hang my hat on.  I also think the last two years and especially this last year we have played the worst coverage of the Mcermott era.  We mixed a matched a motley crue of DB's much of the year.

Im a little perplexed by this … I could see them drafting a guy than having Draft pick, Hamlin and Forrest battling it out for two spots  ..can see a real chance Hamlin being odd man out …

That was my original thinking as well but sometimes you just have to follow the money … Last season too after the bills released Mike Edward’s they really just carried 3 safeties on the roster plus Cam Lewis. Maybe the real battle this year will be Forrest, a draft pick, and Cam.

Cam Lewis backs up Taron and  plays Teams as well as provide safety depth… I see making the team once again … he does three jobs for a pittance

Maybe he could come into the game if both starters and both backups were injured.  Seeing fans talk like having him play significant time in 2025 would be fine is crazy.  If the team is serious about being a championship contender, they can't have a guy of that caliber roaming around the field for anything other than mop up time.

If he makes the team he will be playing real time (not mop up) at some stage of the season, given inevitable injuries that our guys on D regularly get and that there is only 4 guy at the position …and considering his salary is fully guaranteed it’s likely he will be making the team …

Yeah Hamlin being better than Cole just means than Cole was terrible.

If you look at rating when targeted Hamlin was better than Cole, Rapp, or Douglas and was only .3 worse than Cam Lewis.  Which is why in part arguing that any of them are good enough as starters and then saying Hamlin shouldn't be on the team seems crazy.  Cole needs to be improved and it needs to show.  Rapp should not be a starter.  Rapp and Hamlin are interchangeable in that they both should be veteran back ups that know the defense, can make a tackle, but better passing attacks are going to take advantage of them.

Hamlin sits back and waits for the game to come to him most of the time. When he got  beat he got beat bad, but most of the time he just played it safe. That ***** leads to a lot of easy first downs that are excruciating to watch. Cole got beat trying to make plays, which hopefully he improves on. I’m not sure how you think Rapp and Hamlin are interchangeable. Makes me question what you were even watching. I never seen Rapp miss a play and Hamlin bail him out all year but we seen Rapp bail out Hamlin over and over again.

That's a lot of claims with little to back it up.  Please tell me about Rapp's lockdown coverage and Cole getting beat making plays some more.

I would like to see who you think is worse than Hamlin.

Bills constantly covered for him all year long.

I said mid season that Hamlin may be the worst full-season starter at S in Bills history.

I stand by it.
