 I’d agree, he’s a starting safety if you’re OK having a bottom 1/3 of league safety starting for you.  I think many here are looking for an upgrade.  Hopefully Cole can progress greatly this off-season.

When the secondary talent level bar is set at Elam level, this charity* re-signing starts to make sense.

Our secondary is easily our weakest spot on D with Hamlin and Elam penciled in as starters currently

I was soo excited heading into this off season, now it just feels like we're running it back with Bosa instead of Von. This move is very uninspiring and our 2ndary desperately needs help. Hamlin is not good and I have little faith in Bishop, both are giant liabilities. If we come up short again, no doubt secondary will be a big reason why.

Not sure what the hell Cananda is, but if you're referring to my beautiful country, how dare you assume that he is good enough for the CFL.

 

Honestly, i think the Bills are the only team in the league that would ever give this guy a roster spot.

Hamlin isn't bad.  He just isn't the guy you want at safety if you have Lombardi aspirations.

I didn't say he was an *above average* starting safety 😜

 

To be completely honest my draft shopping list hasn't changed one bit: DL, WR, secondary.

 

Do I feel slightly better at the idea that Bishop and/or a rookie will need to win the starting job? Yes. Do we have to make that investment? Also yes

I like the way Damar has bulked up and improved his play in the last year.  He has not reached his ceiling yet......

He doesn’t have the athleticism to play FS, he lacks coverage ability and instincts. He can’t tackle or blitz the QB. No other team would sign him so I guess we have too.

I'd love for him to have a berserker year where he just shows he's competent enough to be a solid starter.

I welcome him back as a backup. My concern is McDermott will start him.  We really need to improve our secondary, especially the safety position, to get over the hump.
