I like the highlights that are showing his one sack a year lol. The player and cost is fine.

Even worse was that one was a highlight of sacking Watson who is terrible. The other is sacking the human statue Rodgers and Collinsworth even says, Rodgers had well over 3 seconds to throw. Not exactly prime highlights.

I was surprised by the Steelers signing.  More 4-3 DT than 3-4 lineman.  I always liked him.  I think he is best as disruptor instead of a two gap defender.  I think if needed could play 1T.  Has some pass rush ability to.  Tables the need to go DT at 30.  I still would want them to if Grant or Harmon are available.  Plus move imo.

he really doesn't seem like a run stopper at all to me.  At this point he seems like a rotational backup 3 tech and a guy they can kick out at times to 5 tech on the end when they want to be in bigger run sets.

The steelers cut him because they believed he cost too much with a 4 million dollar bonus coming.  They saved 7 million cutting him and then he got a raise here to be a part of a D line rotation.

I don't think his signing effect them on draft day.  I imagine most of the tackles in the first four rounds are equal or better players.

I think they try to move AJE.  A 6 sack a year guy does have trade value to teams with pass rushing needs.  You could get a 5th for him I would think.

I was going to reply that with Bosa's injury history it might be wise to keep him. But he is in the last year of his contract and if they can get something for him, why not.

I'm not upset about this but we still need CB help and need to address the line early and often in the draft

Well, it will almost assuredly be a lot less often now as a result of the signings in free agency.

But I still think a huge immovable force in the middle, and hopefully one with some good speed and athleticism too,  may be the most likely first round pick.

This year they don't make the mistake they did last year with Thomas--and they trade up into the first round to get Grant.

He would enable all of the rest of their players, tackles, linebackers, ends, to move to their potential.

Anyone else think that with all these signings we may move up in the draft?

Could be the opposite too, I've heard rumblings that this draft is weak.  Maybe we'll move some picks to next year?

I may be wrong but I don't see too many open spots for rookies.

They don't pay you $8m guaranteed to be a healthy scratch.  I don't see how this isn't an indictment on Carter.  Unless they really value depth at the DT position.

What do you think about Michigan's Kenneth Grant?

I like him. But I don't love the idea of a 1T at #30. And you'd have to take him there IMO.

When the heck did all this get so complicated? Back in the 80's, you had Nose Tackles, Defensive Ends and Linebackers.  Now you got 1Ts and 3Ts and guys that are LBs but are actually more like DEs.

He has played plenty of 1T. I'd be amazed and disappointed if the Bills have given him that deal to back up Ed Oliver.

As I said above... I don't think the Bills want a big fat guy at 1T. That is not the type they have gone for at any stage since they binned Star. They have always gone for 1Ts who can anchor and play run but will also get upfield and penetrate.

That’s a good point about the contract.  I’ve seen Bills media reach out to colleagues in Pittsburgh.  They said Ogunjobe wasn’t great at holding his gap so that’s what makes me question him starting at DT.  But hopefully he can play there situationally

that's back in the day when everyone was in a 5-2/3-4 base
