Virgil Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Looks like a great rotation for Ed and situation pass rusher. Solid signing. As of now, looks like S, DT, and DB2 will be the focus on the draft, pending more FA signings. What sucks is, this is not a great draft for DB's or S. Quote

Holding out hope we can get Samuel so we can truly go BPA in draft. Quote

Feels very similar to the Daquan Jones signing last year which I also was not a fan of. Beane really can't help himself with this type of player. The one saving grace is that it is again a 1 year deal so I guess it doesn't hurt. FWIW PFF graded him as the 150th best DT last year with a 49.4. As others have said he's a more natural fit in a 4-3 so maybe he can return to form. Expand There are some things you can set your watch to in life, and Beane panicking and guaranteeing extra money to middling D linemen is one of those things. He’s gonna do it every year, it’s the curse of Gettleman’s Ghost (still alive I know). Beane also HATES going into the draft with any obvious needs - so I also expect a corner signing is imminent. That said - this guy is a bully who was totally miscast in a 3-4. He’s a very poor man’s Chris Jones (i.e. Vernon Butler) and it’s only a one year deal. Edited March 12 by Coach Tuesday 4 Quote
BuffaloBillsGospel2014 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Does this mean we’ll be cutting ties with Daquan Jones? I hope so. 1 Quote

They need to get a quality 1 T that they believe is better than DaQuan to do that before that move happens I believe. Probably not going to happen until at least after the draft. Everyone needs to remember that there will be another wave of cuts and releases after the draft and there will be good value signings available. 1 Quote
Jimmy Harris 69 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Daquan Jones should be done. He was a non factor last year. I was surprised Beane brought him back at that big dollar. I am hopeful Ogunjobi moves into rotation and replaces Jones’ snaps along with anticipated draft picks. The Bills value versatility and Ogunjobi offers that. I love their FA swings on defense. Roll McBeane! Quote

I doubt they start a rookie corner but who knows. Quote
Carmel Corn Posted March 12 Posted March 12 What was the issue with Daquan’s poor play last year….was he hurt or did age simply catch up with him? Quote

gonzo1105 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I think the idea is to move DeWayne Carter to 1T. He’ll provide better pass rush as a 1 than a 3 and he was solid in the run game before his injury 1 Quote
