Looks like a great rotation for Ed and situation pass rusher.   Solid signing.

As of now, looks like S, DT, and DB2 will be the focus on the draft, pending more FA signings.

What sucks is, this is not a great draft for DB's or S.

Exactly. Holding out hope we can get Samuel so we can truly go BPA in draft.

Draft blunder? Curious to why you think that, I thought Carter was starting to come on before the injury

Analytics tell a different story.  Carter was rated very poorly

Don’t forget that on TBD, players only get their rookie seasons to prove themselves otherwise they are an immediate bust 👍

I can’t see them not drafting one.

Not only are they drafting one, you can almost guarantee it will either be our rd 1 pick or the first in the 2nd.

I'm much less enthused by this signing. He'll be 31 in June and coming off a down year. Feels very similar to the Daquan Jones signing last year which I also was not a fan of. Beane really can't help himself with this type of player. The one saving grace is that it is again a 1 year deal so I guess it doesn't hurt. FWIW PFF graded him as the 150th best DT last year with a 49.4. As others have said he's a more natural fit in a 4-3 so maybe he can return to form.

There are some things you can set your watch to in life, and Beane panicking and guaranteeing extra money to middling D linemen is one of those things.  He’s gonna do it every year, it’s the curse of Gettleman’s Ghost (still alive I know).  Beane also HATES going into the draft with any obvious needs - so I also expect a corner signing is imminent.

That said - this guy is a bully who was totally miscast in a 3-4.  He’s a very poor man’s Chris Jones (i.e. Vernon Butler) and it’s only a one year deal.

Does this mean we’ll be cutting ties with Daquan Jones? I hope so.

Not quite yet, I don't think.

They need to get a quality 1 T that they believe is better than DaQuan to do that before that move happens I believe.

Probably not going to happen until at least after the draft.

Everyone needs to remember that there will be another wave of cuts and releases after the draft and there will be good value signings available.

Daquan Jones should be done. He was a non factor last year. I was surprised Beane brought him back at that big dollar. I am hopeful Ogunjobi moves into rotation and replaces Jones’ snaps along with anticipated draft picks. The Bills value versatility and Ogunjobi offers that. I love their FA swings on defense. Roll McBeane!

It looks like Bishop and Rapp will get the start with a rookie S (I’d assume) backing up Rapp. I still see some veteran corners who would help including Douglas who’s still out there. I doubt they start a rookie corner but who knows.

I don't think it's a round 1 need anymore, which is nice to have the flexibility.  We need a long term replacement or Jones, but the depth in this draft could give us one anywhere in the first 3 rounds.

My growing concern is that they are going to draft a 1T in the 1st round because they convince themselves it's their one missing piece, and historically Beane has pigeonholed himself in the 1st round.

I think it will depend on who falls of course. If a DT they have in their top 15 falls to them they will grab him. Otherwise I agree, I think edge or cb becomes much more likely.
