Pregame penalty. Opposing team looked very aggressive coming out of the tunnel. 15 yard penalty will be assessed on the opening kickoff." 1 Quote
BuffaloBill Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Meh .. this type of cap manuevering is just becoming normal in the offseason. The real questions will be answered down the road because eventually the changes typically hit once the player leaves or is cut. Quote

Success Posted March 12 Posted March 12 It's not much of a "cap space" FA period at this point, though I suppose this could open up a trade or 2 for them. Quote

If he doesn't play at a pro bowl level , thats gonna screw them big time over the next few years. You should only restructure deals for guys you know will be on the team for multiple years and can provide the same high impact. Chris jones is a gamble with his age Quote

Pretty big gamble my friend Quote

But if you think restructuring jones makes the chiefs equal to the saints let’s just agree to disagree I'm not saying that as I was giving an extreme example- My point is teams start to get in trouble with the cap when you start to restructure older players who can't produce at the same level. (Bills went through it last year, Miami now, SF etc) Quote
Orlando Buffalo Posted March 12 Posted March 12 If I am the Chiefs I keep restructuring Mahomes till he is 40 and keep as much talent around him on the field as possible. The Chris Jones restructure might hurt but they, like us, better play it like they have no future once the QB is gone. 1 Quote

There wasnt a team luckier last year, the ball isnt going to always bounce their way. Mahomes cap hit the next two years is now over 70 million. They already have two void years in 2032 and 2033 at 60 million cap hit. They better hope the cap continues it meteoric rise Quote
