Found it interesting he said “maybe more than just this year.” He didn’t have to say that. Tells me he’s absolutely open to multiple seasons here. Assuming all goes well. 1 Quote

PoundingDog Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Lots of hoopla and attention for a guy signed for one year and $12.5 million. Noticed that he said "I expect to be a starter" which if you pay attention was absent from Von Miller in various media conversations last few years. Von Miller was signed with top pass rusher overall contract (6 years) at the time. He's a sure fire first ballot future HOF with 2 superbowl rings. Joey Bosa is signed to a prove-it one year deal. And he openly admitted that his career clock is ticking to "win (superbowl)". I don't know he's a HoF candidate to be honest. But I sense the aura is the same from Von to Joey. They both expect to kind of push the Bills over the top themselves and the majority media/fans kind of expect the same. Hope that we learned from the Von experience not to pin our hope on an aging star. One thing I can't shake off is that Bosa was released from the Chargers, a team with Herbert as QB, and a proven HC Harbaugh. What does Bosa mean it's time to "win" - I think he meant to win the superbowl? Didn't the Chargers load up more than the Bills in the past for a superbowl run? Quote
gonzo1105 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 He’s such a meathead jock by the way he sounds. I love it haha 1 Quote

PoundingDog Posted March 14 Posted March 14 (edited) That's what I'm getting at. "ready to win" here means to win a superbowl because the Chargers have been a regular season winning team since the arrival of Herbert. But they haven't been able to win a playoff game yet (probably due to the Chiefs as well because they never had a home playoff game). I do like the fact that being outright released - he did talk about that, something like being the main guy to being released - gotta sting him some. Sometimes it forces you to look in the mirror and wonder if you are that guy (6-7 years ago) any more. The motivation is certainly different from when Von signed up here. Gregg Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I like how he says, "coming back to a football town". He is going to love the atmosphere at Highmark Stadium. Big difference from LA where they don't really care about the NFL. 2 1 Quote

And was still dominant for many of those years. Coming back to a football town in a close knit team...could rekindle him a bit too. I think he's gonna be motivated by the fans and city as well as just having a 1 year deal...he knows he has to be on the field producing for next off-season if he wants to get paid. I think it's a perfect storm to see the best version of Bosa this year. He's gonna be a dang beast. 2 1 Quote

Mr. WEO Posted March 15 Posted March 15 first thing McD needs to do is get Hoecht and Ogunjobi into a room with Bosa so he can tell them how the NFL PED testing schedule works. It would be a PhD level course. 3 Quote

Look at it like this. Bosa having a one year deal means he has to produce if her wants one final big contract be it here or somewhere else. He has to put up the numbers that show he's still a top pass rusher. Can't do that from the trainers room. I think we see his name on the injury report frequently. I also think come game time he will be out there and dominate. His whole future pay depends on it. Quote
