Saw on X the 49er's thought they had him signed when they released Floyd.  The Bills came in with a better offer.  I believe his agent is Brian Ayrault who grew up in OP and was set up as an agent by Pegula. See Article... It may have helped in acquisition.

Floyd hasn't missed a start in 8 years. It's actually quite insane. What are you even talking about?

He's trying to talk around the fact that Bosa hasn't played much by linking an injury that Floyd had, and played through, which impacted his performance late in the year he was a Bill.  Because those things must be equivalent.

Someone brought up that Floyd disappeared when we needed him at the end of the season and the playoffs and someone gave the excuse he was injured, but argues for Floyd and against Bosa.  While you are absolutely right that Floyd has not missed a game I still see a decent amount of irony in arguing for someone who disappeared because in their own words "he was injured" and then arguing against someone because they have been injured.  The hope in any and all cases is that the person you are signing is healthy come playoffs and by the same token anyone can get hurt no matter their history.  We endure that year after year.

I have a feeling this will not go well. Can’t fault Beane for trying.

It can't go too bad as it's a one year contract. I just hope we don't regret not giving that money to James Cook

Me too. I hope we have him for his 4th full season in 10 years. I hope he rearing to go come Playoff time. If he is, I think he will be a big factor.

Hope our new strength and conditioning coach will get it done!!!

Likely just coincidental.   I think Pegula has probably learned his lesson wrt dealing with agents.   I doubt he had anything to do with that situation.

Todd France being cozy with Pegula is how Marcell Dareus got that unprecedented, no-personal-conduct-clause megadeal from Terry.   Man, that was a costly lesson for Terry.

Tis' true life is about accumulated decisions and those who step on their dick the least tend to rise.

Can we please edit the title to "Joey Mimosa" cause this dude has a better chance of attending Sunday brunches then games. That is all.

I agree, that would probably work schedule-wise… he could hit up a brunch spot in the Southtowns around 10:00, leave at 11:30, and then be at the stadium in time for warmups!

Can we please give him a break. This guy has a better chance being a stadium shoveler then an English professor.

And on the other point - if they decided to release Leonard Floyd before they had Joey Bosa on so much as an agreement (when they could have had him pen to paper, as he was released) - they were going to do that regardless.

That was also coincidental. But the "story" of them looking dumb by cutting him because they thought they had Bosa locked up is more fun. Albeit surely inaccurate.

I didn’t read the whole thread so forgive me if posted 43 times already but…

I think some value in the team likely seeing the move as a positive. Ie I think there are guys that see bosas name and know he’s been a real nfl dude, not just meekly adding any schlub

The only value is that it’s a one year deal and doesn’t hurt the team down the road if he picks up a serious injury.

Not a big fan of the signing personally but don’t hate it either as the interior still has issues and he can’t be counted upon to stay healthy as it stands. Looks like he’s immediately occupying the Von rotational role as he was essentially doing that for the Chargers (14 games, 9 starts, 42% of the snaps).

The silver lining is he’s turned in solid seasons in the ones he’s completed. Nothing otherworldly but 10-12 sacks would certainly be a welcomed addition.

Joey Bosa said that Josh Allen texted him that “if we do what we set out to do then we’ll be immortalized in this city.”
