With Hoecht, Bosa, and Palmer, Beane can actually focus on taking the best player available. DT and Edge are deep in this draft and the Bills can afford to wait in the first two rounds and see who comes to them. Don’t forget they have Solomon and Carter who they like as well. CB is the one position they may have to risk moving up as they are limited supply in this draft. I really want Hairston from UK. I will disagree with your disagreement lol. BPA. What if on their board its a QB, or TE or OT, positions we are set at? I say BPA that addresses known holes and weaknesses. And I like your guy from UK. Mine is the big DT from Texas. Quote

Keep them all healthy hopefully too by limiting snap counts. It seems possible. Von had 6 sacks in 13 games. Bosa had 5 in 14. Can’t imagine he’d cost more than half of what Joey’s getting. Quote

I think Beane’s had enough of teams gashing us like they did late last year. You are right that it's no coincidence both of our new DEs are good against the run and pass. It's easy for Offenses to keep D personnel on the filed when they want to and your chance of becoming a chess-master at DC is much improved if your edge pieces can sack and stuff. These guys both help out a lot in broadening the D playcalls when they are on the field, able to step out from our more contain philosophy to more attacking at the most advantageous spots in the game. 1 Quote
Lothar Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I hope I'm proven wrong - and I'm usually pretty optimistic with Beane's signings - but I'm not convinced he's a fit for this team. 1 Quote

Just curious, but aside from his health concerns, what makes you think he might not be a good fit? Quote

Beane identified pass rusher as a premium need Called about Garrett and Crosby and got shot down. Tried to make a play for Sweat, but Josh chose to play for his old DC in Arizona for similar money. Called about Hendrickson, but Duke Tobin demanded 2 firsts and Hendrickson wanted Garrett money Tried to get Floyd back, but Floyd chose to go home to GA. Threw an extra 2 million guaranteed for one year at Bosa as a low risk, high reward solution. It was option F, but that's how FA works. Guys get to go where they want and you can't force them even with money to take Damn! You're either Batman, Sherlock Holmes or Saul Goodman. I can actually picture each scenario going down exactly like that. As if you were a fly on Beane's office wall. 🤣🤣🤣 Quote

PoundingDog Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Well, I'm a bit surprised that Joey netted $12 million "only" - probably the Bills too. But the market is the market. Injury aside, I feel there is something there the pros might see but fans don't see because a guy like Joey Bosa's pedigree in a premium position usually has a lot of suitors willing to gamble. But I'd also say that if no big money offers are on the table (like 4-5 year deal with big guarantees), the Bills are the kind of teams would be appealing to him. Better chance to have a stat year and championship. If Joey signed with Chiefs for the same amount, I bet 75% of the board would roast Beane for not outbiding the damn Chiefs. For those who wopuld rather pay Hendrickson. Hendrickson is actually a year old, and is probably looking for last big payday of his career. You are looking at close to $30 million average and much bigger overall guarantee... And on top of that, you have to give up a day 1 or 2 draft pick to the Bengals, which would mean another starter for the Bills defense. Edited 8 hours ago by PoundingDog 1 1 Quote

Special K Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Now give me Kenneth Grant in the 1st round! A front four of Bosa, Grant, Oliver and Groot would be pretty formidable. 1 Quote

steven50 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Quote In 2024, Bosa played 50 percent of possible snaps. He produced five sacks and 13 quarterback hits across 14 games and nine starts. Quote
