Kenneth Grant, Alfred Collins, Deone Walker, Omar Norman-Lott, Jordan Phillips, CJ West, give me two big guys for the 1-Tech who can eat up blockers.

You forgot the best 1 Techs in the draft, Tyleik Williams, I'm not sure anyone you listed truly fills the position.

He was not on my radar because of the injury history, but as a one year deal at 12 mil, considering what is left isn't bad. (we were never getting Henderson in a trade, nor were we drafting an impact double digit sack rookie at DE.)  There is a high upside here, worth taking a shot at, and we've limited the risk to a year.

Underrated part of his game is how good he is against the run.

Rousseau/Soloman/Draft

Oliver/Carter

Jones/Draft

Bosa/AJE

This Defense can become elite real quick if we hit in the draft.

You forgot Hoecht

I'm glad to see Beane take a swing.

The Bills already have a solid foundation of good players that set a consistent floor. What they need is some difference makers. Bosa -- WHEN HEALTHY, which is obviously a huge caveat -- has been that at times throughout his career.

This, to me, is Beane saying "we know we need to take some swings and find some game wreckers" and taking a chance. If he strikes out, he still has the consistent but unremarkable Rousseau and Epenesa duo and the young and promising Soloman.

I'm in favor of taking a chance like this. High risk, high reward. BUT...no risk it, no biscuit.

Besides, I once read that Bills Mafia is all mentally ill Italians and racist hill people. Bosa is both, so he should fit right in.

rest him until the playoffs when we actually need some playmakers.

Bills roster is fine, until we go up against the big dogs. Keep Bosa fresh. Re-sign Von and keep them in hyperbaric chambers until December.

Just let him rotate in on passing downs.  Our 3rd down rate sucks on D.

People on this board will fawn over a comp pick to be used on a depth STs Dback but then get mad over a 5x pro bowler not far removed from being a top 10 defensive player in the nfl. Unreal. The overvalue of the draft in the NFL is sickening. This guy can make plays for us

I hear ya. But Bosa averages 9 games played the last 3 years. That continues we're paying him $1.4 mill a game & probably don't have him when it counts. Hendrickson hasn't had that issue. He plays 17 plus playoffs like last year is 20 games at $30 mill that's $1.5 kill a game. If we get to the SB it's $1.4 mill. So for the same money per game we get a better player and better shot at a Lombardi. Even at $30 mill Hendrickson is a better deal. (I get there's variables & no guarantees that past performance is no guarantee of future outcomes etc. Point is I wish we would swing big & go for it).

The problem is Hendrickson likely costing you draft pick(s) and wants an extension and count more salary cap.

No its not. The worst outcome is 12M in lost cap space for a single season. I would hate it too if there was a second year on the deal but there is so little risk here that the move is a good one. The only one who stands to lose anything is Pegula, and that's just cash.

So?

It's moot.  No way would Cinc trade him to a team they have to beat out in the conference.

It was never even in my periphery that the Bills would be interested in him, but I was on a Chargers form the other day just reading comments about various things, and Bosa was obviously a big talking point.

The fan consensus over there is that he is completely toast. That he struggled to make a difference even when healthy and that his best days are far gone. Also a lot of talk about him being good for a penalty per game.

I remember thinking, I feel bad for whatever team pays him.

Oops.

Bosa played better in that Houston Playoff game than their star QB did... Did they mention that? B-)

Can I just float one thing out there?

What if Bosa stays healthy?

The idea of a healthy Joey Bosa on one side and Rousseau on the other -- which, mind you, should also free up Oliver and whatever DT they draft high to make plays -- I mean...

That's pretty ***** enticing, no?

He was top 10 in total snaps for DEs in 17, 19 and 21. Lots of those games he was dying for air at the end because of the Charger's awful use of him. He always pursued even when winded. With contemporary rehab and the limits we should be able to provide him on his 2025 snaps counts we may be able to make our own luck with him and have him just hitting his stride in November. The draft should give us some younger horses to take up some slack while he gets in condition. Having watched a lot of Charger games over his career it's fair to presume his being gassed by being overplayed left him vulnerable to more injuries. He has every reason to come pick up 10 sacks in a D that is very likely to keep him fresh this season.
