harmonkillebrew Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Why all the whining?? This is a pretty good move. Dude is only 29 and has been an all-pro. it's a 1 year deal. Keep his snap count down and keep him fresh for the playoffs. It's a calculated risk I like it! 5 3 1 2 Quote

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Get as many dogs on defense as humanly possible. Our offense has been elite for 6 years. Load up any playmakers you can find on defense. Enough of this bull####. Make the other team punt 2 1 1 Quote

He was overused in SD and seems a bit … muscly. If the league agreed with your theory he would’ve gotten a $100m deal. Well, yeah, anyone is going to be injury prone if overused, and a player can be more susceptible to injury if he's too small for the position, like Bernard. I'm just objecting to the superstition that so often gets attached to the designation. A player could just be unlucky with a series of unrelated injuries, yet he'll be lumped in with the Bernards and Milanos who are punching above the weight class and whose bodies can't take the punishment. 1 Quote

billsfan89 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I don't hate it, Bosa's only going to be 30 and this was a released player so not going to count against comp picks which I suddenly care about now that the Bills actually get them. Bosa is often hurt but this deal is also not that massive relatively speaking. Bosa is very good when he plays no doubt about it. I think the Bills hope that maybe a rotational role which might keep him healthier. My thinking is could the Bills view this as if we can get 8-9 very good to great games out of him is that worth it? Would that half a season of production allow rookies draft the chance to ease in? If you get Bosa playing at a very high level for 7-9 games as a true front line pass rusher it allows the rookies behind him to grow for a playoff push? I like it kind of... 2 Quote

DapperCam Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago People here were whining about not getting elite talent. We can't really afford elite talent without maxing out our cap credit card. This is a move that is a gamble. Bosa has elite upside if he can play healthy. He also might be a swing and a miss, but the cap at one year isn't a terrible gamble. 1 1 Quote
VW82 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) So we go into the draft having bolstered our DL, DE, and WR while needing DL, DE, and WR. Outstanding. We still need DB help. I don't know who our starting FS is. Can Bishop move from SS to FS? Who starts opposite of Benford? Our list of obvious holes grows smaller and smaller. We're very clearly a legit SB contender at this stage, and it isn't just because of Josh. Edited 12 hours ago by VW82 Quote
wppete Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago 3rd down pass rush downs could be scary. Nascar Package. Bosa - Hoeht - Oliver - Rousseau 2 1 Quote

Magox Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I'd be interested to see the structure of this deal. I'm guessing they probably added a void year or two. 2 Quote
Big Blitz Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Underrated part of his game is how good he is against the run. Rousseau/Soloman/Draft Oliver/Carter Jones/Draft Bosa/AJE/Hoecht This Defense can become elite real quick if we hit in the draft. Edited 12 hours ago by Big Blitz 5 1 Quote

I like it kind of... rest him until the playoffs when we actually need some playmakers. Bills roster is fine, until we go up against the big dogs. Keep Bosa fresh. Re-sign Von and keep them in hyperbaric chambers until December. Quote

If you get 7-9 games of Bosa playing at an elite level that's about half a seasons worth of elite play that allows the rookies on the defensive line plus Solomon to feel less pressure to contribute right out the gate. Donuts and Doritos Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago 16 minutes ago, KOKBILLS said: Well... So would all 32 teams... But he's going to cost over 30 million a year... I hear ya. But Bosa averages 9 games played the last 3 years. That continues we're paying him $1.4 mill a game & probably don't have him when it counts. Hendrickson hasn't had that issue. He plays 17 plus playoffs like last year is 20 games at $30 mill that's $1.5 kill a game. If we get to the SB it's $1.4 mill. So for the same money per game we get a better player and better shot at a Lombardi. Even at $30 mill Hendrickson is a better deal. (I get there's variables & no guarantees that past performance is no guarantee of future outcomes etc. Point is I wish we would swing big & go for it). Quote

I would hate it too if there was a second year on the deal but there is so little risk here that the move is a good one. The only one who stands to lose anything is Pegula, and that's just cash. 3 Quote
