hondo in seattle Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) I know cap availability is problematic... as is talent availability (the guys we truly want aren't UFAs). But we haven't been to the Super Bowl since the 1990s. We need an injection of playmakers to get there, and we haven't gotten that. Color me "meh" so far. I was too, but I don't see Bosa as changing that approach much. He was a liability last year for LAC. 1 Quote
Breakout Squad Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago This is a great signing. We needed a stud pass rusher and it’s only a 1 year deal. If it doesn’t work then whatever but Beane taking a shot is awesome. 1 1 Quote

I think Bosa is obviously a risk, but its a clear attempt at pass rush upgrade. I can get disliking the deal on its face, but at least Beane has the idea to try to significantly upgrade the roster instead of just signing CFLers and league average WR's. It makes me feel better about Beane as the GM moreso than the deal itself lol. 1 Quote

DJB Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I changed my vote from very dissatisfied to slightly satisfied after the Bosa signing 😂 1 Quote

He signed his own for the most part. Think about it this way? TOP 4 in AFC. retaining your good FAs is key. Bottom 4 draught years? Not so much. Quote
Victory Formation Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I’m still only slightly satisfied but I’d give our external FA grade a B now. Quote

Charles Romes Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I like the idea of massive turnover in each position group that is not a well oiled machine like Oline and RB. Turnover has intrinsic value. I like taking swings at high upside players. No need wasting energy signing the jaggy Philipses and Jeffersons now when you can finer them mid season. Quote

He's played 3 full seasons out of 9, and has started just 18 games over the last 3 years with significant injuries each of those 3 seasons. His body is in sharp physical decline. The guy is Von Miller slow. In the wild card game against the Texans he had multiple opportunities to make a play and was just too damn slow to get there. in fact, one time he was so slow he got in the way of a teammate making a sack. If we assume we get a great season where he plays 14-16 games, I fully expect him to do the brunt of his damage against weak competition and then completely disappear when we need a closer - just like Miller did last year. He's not an answer to any problem we have and he'll take reps away form a player that could be. If this was madden or 2019, I'd be stoked. Edited 8 hours ago by BullBuchanan 1 Quote

I love the deal...I honestly was not keen on signing Bosa...but for 2 reasons: 1 - I expected him to get a multi-year deal...didn't like that much and 2 - I thought with the mega deals this FA, he would get a higher deal. But at 1 year, $12M there is no risk here for the Bills, only upside. If our rotation can help him stay on the field, this is a guy who can make plays in big moments for us. If he gets hurt, well we were on the doorstep of the SB carrying $31M in dead money last year for a guy not on the team...his deal isn't going to cripple us. This is a win IMHO given the lack or risk and the potential to be an upgrade from Von. Quote

BillMafia716ix Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I voted Meh…the Bosa move doesn’t really move the needle for me. He's just a big name. He’s been hurt the last 3 years. Is he going to be an every down player? Considering how we used Von, I doubt it. Best move of the offseason so far for me was the Shakir deal and getting back Ty Johnson. Everything else I have questions about. Quote
SydneyBillsFan Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago All three additions from LA. Maybe Beane is after-darking from his laptop on Santa Monica Blvd. Here's hoping the trend of acquiring LA guys continues and we nab Samuel Jr. If that happens, it will go from a 'B' to an 'A' Free Agency period. Obviously FA is not over, but the big wave of signings, re-signings and trades is past. i'm glad you did this vote and even happier you did it where it shows names. Some interesting names missing.. that have been very vocal on this topic.. lets see if they vote. Quote
