  1. 1. Who will start opposite Benford?

    • Sign Asante Samuel Jr
    • We will re-sign Rasul Douglas if the market for him is low
    • Ja'Marcus Ingram
    • Sign Jonathan Jones
    • We will trade for someone
    • Rookie
    • FA Field

Me. I can be CB2. I will be 39 at the end of the month. I'm 5'10 240 pounds and probably run about an 8 second 40 time. What do you all think?

Well, you’re faster than Coleman…, 🤣

I really love Zy Alexander and Mello Dotson

Neither has much speed for CB.  Now, can they be successful in a zone scheme?  Yes maybe they can, but lack of speed is a problem in man coverage.

I'd be very happy with Porter. Not worried about age at all.😁

It’s not just that he is an older candidate, he also doesn’t have a ton of experience at the position.  Height, weight, speed and played well last year- he’s a prospect, but might not be who you want if you’re counting on him to start/play a lot this year.

Probably a better option than what we currently have.🫣😂

Isn't he a former WR?

Yes and special teams. Plus a former track star. You would think converting from WR it would help with understanding routes. At least I would think so.🤔

We will draft a CB day 1 or 2. But Ingram will be the starter after a camp battle and the board will lose its mind

He is the current roster player with the best metrics.

While that may be true ..he shouldn't be starting lol

I fully agree.  Read my earlier post.

Jackson’s PFF grade was 33 last season which was 214th of 222 graded CBs.  Ingram was better at 58, but that isn’t a starting CB ever.  Douglas was 59 I think.  Not good either.

There has to be someone available in trade or FA that is a better option even if it’s 34 year old Gilmore.

Ya he definitely has a shot. I loved what i saw from him in spot duty. Hope he's working hard to get to the next level

This is not a strong CB group in this year's draft.  Given this and in general, counting on a first round or second round CB pick to be an effective starter in his first year seems unrealistic (see, e.g., Elam).  We will need a veteran to fill this hole, and it is not Jackson.

Well, there was a guy a couple years back that was a 6th rounder that seems to be doing ok. Doesn't always need to be a 1st or 2nd rnd pick. 😉😁

I think the CB class has some prospects …its just a matter of them hitting on the right one …people mention Elam but McDermott picked Tre White …. Maybe let him have the final say this time

We hit on White, Taron Johnson and Christian Benford. Siran Neal is also a player in this league though not with us and  is Alex Austin a former 7th Round pick of ours so it seems like we know how to find CBs. Yes, Elam and others may have busted but we still have a "winning hand" in my eyes at finding CBs.

Yeah … I think they can find someone … you liking anyone ? I’d be happy with another Trey - Amos … if still available..

I like Amos but I like Tyleik Williams more.

I would much prefer signing Rasul Douglas, Gilmore, or Asante Samuel

instead of drafting a CB in Round 1 or 2

the first 3 picks should be all DL, with the only exception being a WR or possibly an elite Safety prospect falling

Douglas was solid after the acquisition but he was extremely sloppy down the stretch last year. Unless it’s for the vet minimum or as close to it, hopefully they explore someone else; rookie or another UFA.

I get were in the weeds with some of the older ones but it’s a lot

Don’t forget Antoine Winfield.  He was as good as anyone on the list when he was a Bill.
