Now, can they be successful in a zone scheme? Yes maybe they can, but lack of speed is a problem in man coverage. 18 hours ago, LyndonvilleBill said: I'd be very happy with Porter. Not worried about age at all.😁 It’s not just that he is an older candidate, he also doesn’t have a ton of experience at the position. Height, weight, speed and played well last year- he’s a prospect, but might not be who you want if you’re counting on him to start/play a lot this year. 2 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) We will draft a CB day 1 or 2. But Ingram will be the starter after a camp battle and the board will lose its mind Edited March 19 by BuffaloBillyG 1 Quote

Jackson’s PFF grade was 33 last season which was 214th of 222 graded CBs. Ingram was better at 58, but that isn’t a starting CB ever. Douglas was 59 I think. Not good either. There has to be someone available in trade or FA that is a better option even if it’s 34 year old Gilmore. Edited March 20 by GASabresIUFan Quote

Hope he's working hard to get to the next level 1 Quote

jahnyc Posted March 19 Posted March 19 This is not a strong CB group in this year's draft. Given this and in general, counting on a first round or second round CB pick to be an effective starter in his first year seems unrealistic (see, e.g., Elam). We will need a veteran to fill this hole, and it is not Jackson. Quote

Doesn't always need to be a 1st or 2nd rnd pick. 😉😁 1 Quote

I think the CB class has some prospects …its just a matter of them hitting on the right one …people mention Elam but McDermott picked Tre White …. Maybe let him have the final say this time Edited March 19 by Aussie Joe Quote

Siran Neal is also a player in this league though not with us and is Alex Austin a former 7th Round pick of ours so it seems like we know how to find CBs. Yes, Elam and others may have busted but we still have a "winning hand" in my eyes at finding CBs. 1 Quote

I’d be happy with another Trey - Amos … if still available.. Quote

Warriorspikes51 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) I would much prefer signing Rasul Douglas, Gilmore, or Asante Samuel instead of drafting a CB in Round 1 or 2 the first 3 picks should be all DL, with the only exception being a WR or possibly an elite Safety prospect falling Edited March 19 by Warriorspikes51 2 1 Quote

Unless it’s for the vet minimum or as close to it, hopefully they explore someone else; rookie or another UFA. Quote
