Steptide Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I take it as they changed up the scheme and Keon didn't adapt well to it. Not that he had an issue with it, but maybe it didn't play to his strengths. Maybe Beane and McDermott thought he'd adapt better and he didn't. But any young receiver that wants 12 tds a season and 1000 yards, I'm 100% good with. He'll improve. He looks 15 years old to my 44 year old self. Give bro a chance 8 minutes ago, chris heff said: I know who he is, but didn’t know that was him. Took me a few mins to realize that too 1 Quote

Coleman had every opportunity to correct the podcasters and say he had some growing up to do but instead took their praise in stride. Shows a lack of maturity on Coleman’s part and lack of any prep work by the podcasters. These aren’t the kinds of podcasts that grill guys though, it’s more of just a conversation and these specifically are not football people. Most players don’t go on podcasts that someone is going to ask really tough questions on. I mean McAfee actually is a football guy and he glazes all over Rodgers every week when he’s on. 1 Quote

I guess it’s asking too much for these podcasters to do 5 minutes of research to find out Coleman’s Head Coach and GM called him out for not being same player after the injury. Quote

He’s saying the offensive rhythm changed and that was tough to adjust to post injury. McBean seemed to almost be critical of his effort or preparation. Frustration can make someone seem lazy or unmotivated. I classify this as a young man trying to learn how to be a pro in this game. Quote

One of the things Keon said that “triggered” me was (him mimicking a conversation with a coach) “No, you don’t have to tell me why. I am a grown ass man. I understand.” I think that’s close to what he said. In past press conferences, defensive players have given kudos to McD because he always explains ‘the why’. I see this with younger coworkers quite frequently. They THINK they know ‘the why’ and therefore they THINK they are taking the correct actions. Sometimes that’s true. However, there are plenty of times where, if they had just been patient enough to receive (or even ask for) ‘the why’ explanation, they would have understood a little bit better a lotta bit faster. Im probably reading into that single statement way too much, but it did immediately catch my attention. Still, I agree, Keon appears a very thoughtful young man with so many good things going on above the shoulders. Really pulling for him to have a great offseason and to kick butt this Fall. 1 Quote
billsfan89 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Steve Smith Rookie WR grades for Reference. EDIT: Apparently I didn't do a good job of looking and he had more grades (Pearsall, BTJ, and Burton who is the only 3rd round pick thus far). The last one he did was 4 days ago (Harrision Jr) Keon - C+ AD Mitchell - C Ja'Lynn Polk- C Worthy- B Legette- C Harrison Jr- B Odunze- C- Pearsall- N/A (Didn't play enough) BTJ- B+ Jermaine Burton- D+ If he's doing rookie WR's for the first 3 rounds he still has to grade Nabers, McConkey, Jalen McMillian, Rome Wilson (didn't play not sure if that's gonna warrant a breakdown), and Malachi Corley (who also didn't play much). Billzgobowlin Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago You make yourself indispensable. Make it so the team hurts when you hurt. How is McConkey not on this list? I think he's still making his way through the rookie WR class. I would expect McConky, Nabers, and BTJ don't have videos just yet. I would also imagine Pearsall will also see a video. If I had to guess Keon will be in the middle of the pack in terms of these grades when all is said and done. Quote
Coach Tuesday Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Idiotic responses in this thread aside, I am glad Keon wants to be great - he clearly does. But this offseason is the most critical point in his entire career. If he puts in the work, there is a golden opportunity in front of him - very little competition in that WR room even if they draft someone (big “if” with this regime, they have some kind of allergy to the position). Keon needs to work hard and seize the day or else they’ll move onto other options quickly and he’ll be chasing that pole position for the rest of his career. Life comes at you fast in this league - blink and you might miss it. Huge few months ahead for that young man. Same with Bishop tbh. 2 Quote

JohnNord Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I like Keon but don’t think he’s ever going to be the receiver the Bills think he can be. IMO the best case scenario is the 4th best WR on a team Quote

Thrivefourfive Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Ya know. I’m getting irked here. Coleman played significant snaps in the playoffs. If he wasn’t into it, says Beane,, and he didn’t fit in either,, says Keon,,, then what the hell? Were we that desperate at WR..? I didn’t think so. Sure we still scored, but damn. Quote
