Seems like a DE 3/4 type player, very versatile and physical. Not too familiar with him but kind of a mid tier move at a position that needs multiple moves so if this is a complementary move and not the big major piece then I like it.

I like it. Just a bit mad about Hollins at the same time.

Once they signed Palmer, the writing was on the wall he wouldn’t be back

I agree I can only hope there is a trade or a decent signing like S Jevon Holland or a trade for Hendrickson but I'm not banking on it.

I’d rather Cisco over Holland but Hendrickson would be amazing.  I don’t see it happening.  I think we might be done with DE until the draft

Reading that he was a DT that transitioned to OLB just gave me Spencer Johnson flashbacks…

Did I dream that?! What a weird time to be a Bills fan that was…

I like Cisco also I just think Holland is the more athletic of the 2. Yeah hendrickson is a pipe dream plus i doubt the bengals would trade him to us as we are a direct team in their path to a SB also.

Joe Marino's text about him is that he's been a stand up EDGE in a 3-4 so kind of a weird fit for us. He projects him as the Dawuane Smoot role but that's a big raise for that role. From other things I'm reading he's been used in coverage more than the typical EDGE. So somewhat of a hybrid/positionless player that we can use as a chess piece.

FWIW PFF graded him as the 104th best EDGE in 2024 with a 61.3 grade. As a pass rusher 60.3, as a run defender 73.5.

My initial though is it seems like a substantial overpay but I don't have a strong opinion on it. Given how much they're paying they presumably have a plan so we'll see how they use him.

Yeah I think he’s interesting. But this is not a chess piece type of defense. We are very traditional position roles. This is a 4-2-5 cover 2/3 with 4 down defense that is incredibly vanilla. If he just lines up at RDE it kinda seems like it takes away his value. This is the kind of guy the Ravens make a beast. But I guess we shall see. Zo Alexander was kinda the only guy who’s had success in a hybrid chess role here.

I agree that we need a safety badly but I’m skeptical that the Bills feel that way beyond depth guys.

I don't think Beane really cares about system fit. Only that he's related to Chris Kelsey and provides depth. Seriously starting to loathe Beane's approach to building this roster. Which I know evokes strong distaste from those that think he walks on water. I will change my tune if we bring on a legit difference maker. The last one was 2022 and the one before that was 2020. You better be damn good at hitting your draft picks with high end talent if you don't want to use trades or FA.

Couldn’t they have found that mid draft ?

Who says they’re not going to. I don’t think Hoecht changes their gameplan in the draft. In a deep draft, this honestly could spell trouble for Epenesa down the line more than him being lined up with Rousseau

Im responding to the comment that he is Smoot’s replacement ,,,I don’t see the need to pay $6m plus a year  for that
