Luka Posted March 12 Posted March 12 If he can really be the new Lorax then this is a brilliant move. I think his role, at least hearing about his play style and some of his strengths, will be 3rd and short and 3rd and medium. Against running teams this will be our "heavy" package where Hoecht will be the third backer rather than playing nickel and giving up 6 yards when they need 3. If it is a pass they will trust his coverage ability in the short field. Very athletic for a man his size and should bring a nice wrinkle back to the defense that we've been missing for a couple years. 2 Quote
ColoradoBills Posted March 12 Posted March 12 In case anyone missed his cap hits. $4.4M this year $7.5M next year. An out after that. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/48007/michael-hoecht 2 2 Quote
Buffalo Barbarian Posted March 12 Posted March 12 This is my favorite signing of the off season. His athleticism, tenacity and availability will make him special here in Buffalo, cant wait for the season to start !! 3 1 Quote

He is a high motor UDFA out of Brown that is always around the football. Had his best year two years ago as a full time starter but went back to PT player this past year after the Rams drafted a ton of guys on the DL. Fits the Bills character player and smarts He is not a DT, he was an OLB for the Rams and he will be an edge player for the Bills. Reminds me of a poor man’s Andrew Van Ginkel in the way he plays. He’d played all over their DL both with his hand in the dirt and standing. The Bills are two for two on guys I recommended though for more money than I’d like I think he will be better than Van Ginkel. The real question is who will wear 97 😉 Quote

EmotionallyUnstable Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) Terrible deal signing all these Canadians. As much as I love them, the extra 25% tariffs don’t allow our dollars to go as far. Sitting down at the table short stacked, Beane! Edited March 12 by EmotionallyUnstable 2 Quote

McDermott strikes again! 😭 With a max of 8 mil a year, it should be easy to see he is a great value. In the last 3 years he has .5 of a sack less than Von Miller. The last 2 years in the playoffs in 3 games he had 1 sack while Von Miller had 0 in 4 games. And he has made game changing plays on special teams. Quote
Chandler#81 Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Greg Thomset (Cover 1) loves this guy and wanted the Bills to sign him. Thats more than good enough for me! Quote
SydneyBillsFan Posted March 13 Posted March 13 What's this big dude from the 51st state doing at the bottom of the main page? You're a Bill now Michael - up to the top you go! Quote

Magox Posted March 13 Posted March 13 More good work from the Cover 1 guys with Michael Hoecht. He seems very football intelligent. 2 Quote
Magox Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I think this is going to end up being a sneaky good signing. 1 Quote
