Bills sign DL Michael Hoecht on a 3-year deal worth a max value of $24M

If he can really be the new Lorax then this is a brilliant move. I think his role, at least hearing about his play style and some of his strengths, will be 3rd and short and 3rd and medium. Against running teams this will be our "heavy" package where Hoecht will be the third backer rather than playing nickel and giving up 6 yards when they need 3. If it is a pass they will trust his coverage ability in the short field. Very athletic for a man his size and should bring a nice wrinkle back to the defense that we've been missing for a couple years.

He is not a DT, he was an OLB for the Rams and he will be an edge player for the Bills. 
 

Reminds me of a poor man’s Andrew Van Ginkel in the way he plays. He’d played all over their DL both with his hand in the dirt and standing. 
 

The Bills are two for two on guys I recommended though for more money than I’d like 

 

I think he will be better than Van Ginkel.

 

The real question is who will wear 97 😉

Van Ginkel was an all pro last year if that happens than we’re winning the SB lol
