Rams fans seem pretty happy for him and feel like he’s earned his payday. This could be a sneaky good signing.

I saw the same thing, they all seemed to like him but a lot said he’s not good in coverage.   Not too many 280 pounders are lol

if the bills are in a bidding war for him lets hope they lose out.

Going to be really expensive for a guy with stinger issues who doesn't like to tackle.

I agree, haven’t been a fan of any of the signings today and wouldn’t like that one. But having highlighted these guys weeks ago I wonder if the Cover 1 guys have ingratiated themselves in with someone in the Bills org…but that is just my own conspiracy theory.

This is like McGovern all over again to me. A guy who was a backup that people thought we overpaid and he’ll end up being very good for us and people will end up loving him. Don’t speak on something you don’t know is what I say.

I like your optimism but this FO and McD have terrible track records with the D line so I’m very skeptical. O line on the other hand they’ve done great…if only we had a defensive minded coach to know what could fix the D to get pressure when it mattered 🤔

That being said the player seems like a Buffalo guy but for the money and how much he’ll actually play (outside of special teams 🙄), I just wish we took true difference makers. Not #3 WRs on one of the most pathetic WR corps in the league or rotational pass rushers away from a team who always spends big money on high impact players.

Hoecht's transformation from undrafted free agent to depth defensive tackle to multitool outside linebacker/pass rusher over the past four seasons has been impressive to witness. He played a situational role in the Rams' "Cheetah" package in 2024, recording three sacks, 56 tackles, two pass breakups and six quarterback hits.

While Hoecht likely won't be a fit for every team, in Vic Fangio-style or similar defensive systems, he will find work, always be a core special teams player. He also stays healthy, not missing a snap because of injury since becoming a regular starter/rotational player in 2023.

Looks like an answer to the quick passing offense

You mean he gets open in space too? Sweet, Big baller Beane playing 4D chess…😉

Trent Murphy-like signing? Just a rotational piece, nothing more. Him and Epenesa are tied for DE3.

EDIT: sounds more like an athletic Lorenzo Alexander type. Went from a 310 DT to a full time outside LB. Most likely still DE3 in the Bills scheme.

Lorax is a good comp.

No, he's more of a DE hybrid.

The Rams used him as a 5th rusher at the OLB position I think.

Is this a defensive tweak ? More packages ?

3-4  LOL

Nothing in your post.

Thanks.

It's that whole "Twitter isn't working today" thing happening again. Won't let me embed any Tweets. Lame.

what good deals would you have done? Sweat is probably the best big name deal I’ve seen and I know the SB is a lasting memory but his career has been very similar to Rousseau and he’s 3 years older. I’m glad for Sweat as an FSU fan but is he on the verge of being a dominant player or the beneficiary of one game where all eyeballs were on him and the dominant players around him
