gonzo1105 Posted Monday at 11:47 PM Posted Monday at 11:47 PM (edited) This is like McGovern all over again to me. A guy who was a backup that people thought we overpaid and he’ll end up being very good for us and people will end up loving him. Don’t speak on something you don’t know is what I say. I was hoping the Bills would bring him back. Yeah. Kind of a tough break for Smoot here. But I'm pretty sure this will be his replacement and he's going to make some plays. He's one of those guys you can tell loves football and I think fans will appreciate the effort he gives on every play. 1 Quote

It's a clear signal the Bills recognize the need for change. McD had some success with Zo... We'll see... They certainly need to do something different. Especially on 3rd down... I feel you. I’m not holding my breath for scheme type change, but certainly one can hope. Quote
billsfan714 Posted Monday at 11:52 PM Posted Monday at 11:52 PM Well this guy had 3 sacks and Smoot had 1.5 sacks last year, can Beane bring more JAGs? 1 Quote

Mcgovern was a starter in Dallas. They insisted he could not play center and was not a good guard so they let him walk. The guys who said that are all not coaching in the nfl at the moment also Joe Philbin and Mike McCarthy. Quote
BillMafia716ix Posted Monday at 11:52 PM Posted Monday at 11:52 PM So we cut Von for this guy? 1 Quote
EmotionallyUnstable Posted Monday at 11:52 PM Posted Monday at 11:52 PM 37 minutes ago, Simon said: No, he's more of a DE hybrid. The Rams used him as a 5th rusher at the OLB position I think. He was a bit of a tweener. Not sure how much he fits with them. He was a standing edge at times in a 5 down look or played off the ball a bunch too. Hopefully 4-3 end is a better fit 1 Quote

Maine-iac Posted Monday at 11:54 PM Posted Monday at 11:54 PM Shaq Lawson would come do the same job for next to nothing ............ I'm kidding ............ or am I ? Quote
GunnerBill Posted Monday at 11:54 PM Posted Monday at 11:54 PM Jeesh. That's a lot of money. Devil in the detail as always with these contract numbers but $8m a year for a rotational pass rusher who is not an automatic scheme fit? Feels high to me. I was expecting it to come in more in the $5-6m range. 1 5 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted Monday at 11:57 PM Posted Monday at 11:57 PM I think the pipeline somehow shifted from Carolina to the LA Rams. They seem to sign a lot of former Rams in the past few years. Quote

He was a starter for one year, like Hoecht and a backup the other years . Their story is incredibly similar before coming to the Bills Quote
