Ok, so Palmer is a young player.  However, DeMarcus Robinson with the Rams had similar stats as Palmer but scored 7 TDs vs 1 for Palmer.  Robinson started several games due to the injuries to Nacua and Kupp.

Robinson signed with the Niners for 2 years/$9.75M.   Sure he’s 30 years old but that’s a big disparity from the 3 years/ $36M the Bills gave Palmer.

Mr Beane, Negotiation 101 awaits you.

The best way we can help the pass rush is probably to add a legitimate starting CB and hope McDermott has seen the light and will get these guys up on the LOS to prevent free releases and limit people's ability to get the ball out in 2 seconds. Adding Asante Samuel will be a quality step toward that goal.

Our CBs play way too far off the los. If we played press a lot more often it would stop Mahomes from getting the ball out so quickly. It would give our pass rush more time to get there too.

This is really my problem with Beane bringing him in

His body of work says he's a borderline starter that should get maybe 5 mil per year on a modest deal...not 3 for 36.

500 yards and one touchdown isn't a strong hand for an agent to play in negotiations, so why did Beane do something that was unlikely for any other team to do?

Still absurd money for a guy that lost his starting job to a guy with stone hands and had one TD on the season

Cant compare a 30 year old who is viewed as a 4th or 5th wr to a guy projected to start outside and in his mid 20’s.  Little rich for my blood but was perceived as one of the top available wrs.  Compared to Darius Slayton both signed for the same money.  Robinson is similar to Hollins to NE both 2 years 9-10.  12 is going rate for a starting caliber WR.  Palmer will be on the field alot.

Correct.  Also, based off other contracts and his projected value its market value leaning slightly under.

Is it me or does this guy look a lot like Chappelle? In this pic specifically, Ty Biggums.

huge money for a WR4/5 with a penchant for drops

Are you mixing him up with Johnston? Johnston had an absurd amount of drops rookie season (over 15) then last year he had 3 drops alone against the ravens. Brutal.  As for our new guy Palmer is drops an issue with him? Legitimately asking because it appears his last 3 years he has 2-3 drops a season. If that’s accurate, I’ll take it.

Fox Sports has him at 13 over the last 3 years on low volume targets.

Oh wow truly didn’t realize this. Granted I did not do much research but thought the drop issues on the chargers was just Johnston

It's based on upside and potential, he adds a legit outside speedster with size and blocking ability. 25 y.o..

I think it's his fit in this offense,  or at least how they envision his fit and production.

I watched a vid of his every target in 2023.  I didn't see a lot of drops.

I also didn't see a guy that had blazing speed or got a lot of separation.  He looked like an overall solid receiver who can run different routes competently but didn't excel at any of them.  His supposed superiority versus man didn't shine for me.
