Well it's something. It is a legit outside receiver with some speed. But he only had 500 odd yards on a team crying out for outside receivers in 2024. It's a baseline improvement. But it doesn't do much for the ceiling of this offense IMO.

He's gonna help keep getting 1st downs for sure. If he expands his game further, a big win for the Bills.

Here..

Josh Palmer's separation score per FPD is 10th in the NFL and and his win rate is 5th among all WRs including the wild card round. Whoever signs Josh Palmer will be getting a gem.

But he runs a 4.52!!!

So palmer will be asked to do exactly what they would have asked metcalf to do in this offense.

Only he is going to do it at 12 a year for 3 years instead of 30 a year for 5 years.

Also palmer I believe is a good locker room guy.

Stop with the Metcalf stuff please.  I'm still in mourning.

And the excuse in the Kellen Moore offense the year before?

And do we want to keep doing this, or how about we just see how the kid plays?

I disagree with the ceiling thing. At least in terms of the player in this offense. I think his ceiling is why he was brought in and at the much larger price than expected he was signed to (signaling there was a market).

The feeling is he wasn't really able to reach the potential that his metrics say he should be at - in large part to playing in a Harbaugh offense. And the type of WR he is what we've been missing.

He has the potential to be great with Josh. Is that a guarantee? No. And I agree, on paper, it's nothing to be excited about and think it really moves the needle. Did I want more than this? Absolutely. But the potential is there. And the contract says they believe he hasn't reached his ceiling.

With how much money guys are getting in this offseason market, this is a bargain.  After seeing all this crazy money lately, I thought he might go for a lot more than this given who was available still.

Kellen Moore bounced around until he landed on a jack pot of a loaded team. He was unimpressive in Dallas. He may have developed into a great coordinator.  But I can’t give a journeyman OC that much credit with hurts , saquan , aj , and Devonta and the best OL in football

Don't expect Josh Palmer to be a star with the Bills, he won't be.  The expectations for him is to serve as an effective pressure valve when teams decide to play man to man and when they blitz.  He's a guy that Allen could turn to quickly under duress and have Palmer beat his man in those situations.  Think third downs or high leverage moments!

He's not most likely going to be a 1k yard WR, he will probably be around the 700 yards and 5 TD range.   It's a Moneyball approach where Palmer fits a need in certain situations.

I think Joe Mario said he's top 10 in the NFL getting open vs zone and man... So that's good... It should be interesting to see what their plan is for him. He was also top 5 in air yards in 2024... B-)

Maybe he's just signed to buy Beane more time to actually draft a great, fast young WR1.  I mean 12M for a guy who had 1 td last year is ridiculous.

He’s from Toronto. Makes sense that he wants to play near home.

Tell Palmer to bring Mitch Marner to Buffalo with him.

He's like TEMU Metcalf.

Oh great. So it's going to take 8 months for him to even show up?

I think he will play fine. He will likely have career numbers playing with Josh Allen. But he isn't suddenly going to emerge as a true #1 receiver. If he was it would have happened the last two years on the Chargers when they had desperate need at the spot.
