Look at the list of who is available. This is a great signing, given that list. Young, upside, gets effin open. Ya'll wanna pay DK 30 million I'm sorry I don't see it. This defense needs work.

I still think CB is the biggest weakness on the team right now and one of the positions where I have the least confidence in a rookie stepping in.

But I understand your sentiment too. We haven't had a stud since the first half of the 2022 season, before Diggs fell off a cliff. The offense has been tough sledding since then and Palmer is not a needle mover. Unfortunately there are no needle movers left to acquire unless a mystery player is available for trade. So it's going to have to be a highly drafted WR, and hope Coleman and Samuel give us more than they did last year.

I'll admit I don't watch many Chargers games so I'm not familiar with him.

 

Looking through his game logs it looks like he was having a very good 2023 season until the knee sprain made him miss 7 games.

He had 133 yards against the Chiefs.

He also had a concussion in 2022 and missed a game.

 

Contract probably will be back loaded so I guess we see how he fits in with Josh.

And what free agent WR on the market satisfied this?  Metcalf as a trade seems like it was the only other option.  For 2.5x the cost plus a second rounder.  I liked the idea of Metcalf, but I think it is fair to question if he is worth that much more.

I don't know if "tough sledding" is the appropriate term for our offense coming off of a record breaking year and scoring the most points in the NFL last season.
