I don't think he is close to as good as Josh Norman was.

Same but he gets a lot of hype down here. There is little to celebrate with him. I half expect the Panthers to go desperate after Miller

You know how Benford is probably a bit underrated around the league? Be happy for that now.

I'm guessing he's viewed a lot differently by guys who sign the checks than he is by fans.

While that's true, you still need to put that into dollars by way of comparison of accolades and stats with other players. It helps the Bills here.

That may be true, depending upon the GM.

But if I'm in that position, accolades and stats are the last things I'm looking at.

I'm in a room full of pros looking at film and not considering much of anything else except injury history and police blotters.

Crikey. That is a ton. Missed most of his rookie year and his 3rd year and while I haven't watched a lot of Carolina this past year when I did I thought he was struggling some. That is a ridiculous deal.

I agree with you.  I have watched enough of the Carolina games to conclude that this is a significant overpay.  We should not be using Carolina as a measuring stick for determining smart potential future actions for the Bills.  The Panthers remain a poorly run team.

why?  The NFL has given each team $275 Million to spend on their roster....The teams have to spend that money (at the minimum) and a lot more in bonuses (real cash) to build their teams.  The players win....

The league makes a TON of money. The players should get it.

edit to add:
