First: “Legal tampering”. That’s a stupid name.  Call it “unofficial negotiating period” or something more accurate.

Second: You just know that there has already been a ton of “not so legal tampering” but everyone looks the other way.

Third: It starts at Noon which should be a gigantic and unfair advantage for teams in the East.  If not for the illegal tampering we know is going on, the West coast teams would be having a hissy fit. The Cardinals especially since Arizona doesn’t do daylight savings.  I doubt Beane would use this to his advantage if a West coast team beats him to a guy before it is noon there, but it would be interesting.  I could see Kraft and Vrabel doing this and turning in the Seahawks or someone.

The NFL probably likes this stuff because it creates headlines and clicks, but it feels funky dink.

Between the start of FA with legal tampering and the draft make it the two most exciting times in the offseason. I will be hitting the F5 button all day to see what the Bills and other teams are doing.

yes, I find these few days in March to be so refreshing. As in, I'm constantly refreshing nfl.com.

Im pretty sure it starts at 12 pm EST, so the Seahawks would start at 9 am PST instead of having to wait till 12 there time

The NFL is masters of staying in the limelight.

Season from August to February

Draft Bowl games in March

Pro Day, Free Agency, and Draft March-April

Rookie Minicamp in May

Mandatory minicamp

Then Training camp

Seattle is on the West coast and three hours behind.

yes I know. I think you are thinking that each team has to wait until there 12 pm local time. They don’t, west coast teams can also start at 12 pm EST and won’t be penalized for it.

It starts at the same time for every team. They don't let the west coast start first, haha.

I was confused reading it as well. Thought he meant the disadvantage for West coast teams is waking up early maybe?

I swear I typed rinky dink but funky dink seems like a phrase that should have been used by now.

Right.  It starts at Noon.  East Noon is before West Noon therefore advantage East.

That’s a you problem.  My mind went to those plastic pictures you used to put in the stove.  Maybe like a tie dye version instead of the normal picture of a bunny rabbit or something.

The funky dink?  No.  I think it got autocorrected.

The time of day?  West Coast is three hours behind East Coast.  Facts.  Under your rules players would be signed already because it is well past Noon in London and the NFL plays there.
