JerseyBills Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) I called WFAN yesterday and said that Bills had more heartbreak and surreal circumstances than any other team in all of sports. I'm excluding 2020, KC whooped us, but while it hurt tremendously, i and I think most ppl were content, getting to an afc title game, QB solidifies himself as 1 of the best and future looks bright and 2022 where Cincy just beat us up. Those I could handle. Man I think 21, 13 seconds, I've never felt that euphoria evaporate like that, Our guy just out dueled Mahomes in KC, had a perfect wildcard game, I mean that game, the feeling I had was like nothing I've ever felt, I was in disbelief, if that scenario is played back 100 times, we win 100 times , I'm still shocked. Then Bass wide right in 23, the play before Josh would've had a TD, literally by a millisecond, Jones drives Dawkins into Josh, slightly effecting the throw. Another just brutal loss And of course this last year, you can go back to multiple plays and if they go our way , we make the SB. And that could be said about 21 and 23. Just pondering the question, I really don't know, I still feel numb to it all and as ridiculous as this sounds I truly feel like there's some curse or bad juju over this franchise, you obviously go back to 4 straight SBs and look at these last 5 years, we've had more heartbreak than any franchise in any sport. Because we've been legit SB contenders and literally a play away in 3 playoff games, it's so surreal and abnormal. I can't even wrap my head around how so much negative went wrong so fast. Yes I'd love an elite edge but we're not a player away, we're a play away. Sorry guys, it's just so unbelievable when you look at it all, hard to wrap my head around these soul crushing losses, again, so abnormal I know this topic has been discussed but man it's just unbelievable how much bad luck these guys had, will they ever catch a break? Seriously. Edited 3 hours ago by JerseyBills 1 2 1 Quote
thenorthremembers Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago No such thing as a curse or bad luck. Somebody has to win and somebody has to lose. When the talent level is as close as it is between the Bills and the Chiefs, its usually going to be close. The curse was the 17 years they didnt make the playoffs. This current team is too successful to be called cursed. 1 2 Quote

MrEpsYtown Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago It's just classic mythic structure. The thirteen-second game was the turning point and if that game ended differently everything would be different for this franchise. Right now we are living in a Shakespeare tragedy, because of a tragic flaw...terrible coaching decisions, we can not get over the hump. But there is still hope that Josh is our hero and will help us overcome our flaws. There can still be a happy ending here. 3 3 Quote

Beane needs to put a better a roster around Allen. The roster is good not great. On defense you can make the argument that it is average at best. I doubt this team wins a Super Bowl with McDermott. I hope I am wrong about that, but I don't think I will be. 1 Quote
zow2 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago What's the career high for playoff wins by a specific QB for one team without a Super Bowl appearance? Quote

Fans who think the current team is "cursed" are either too young to remember those 17 years in the desert or have selective amnesia about them. 7 minutes ago, MrEpsYtown said: It's just classic mythic structure. The only tragedy here has been that so many Bills fans wallow in self-pity and/or anger that they can't enjoy the ride the Bills are on with one of the greatest QBs to ever grace the NFL. Appreciate the good times. Quote

Matt_In_NH Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I believe if they keep competing at a championship level like they have the odds of them getting one are really good. The play the Chiefs tight every time, yet the Bills win regular season and Chiefs win playoffs....people love to say its superior coaching, maybe it is....and maybe its a bit of happenstance. Why does the superior coaching of the Chiefs not work in the regular season? The other thing is the organization does not just sit on their hands doing the same thing over and over, they do try and learn from what has happened and address things. 38 minutes ago, zow2 said: What's the career high for playoff wins by a specific QB for one team without a Super Bowl appearance? Royale with Cheese Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago It will happen one day. Just know that. The Bucs and Saints were bad when I was growing up and now I have seen them win 3 total Super Bowls. It will happen and be prepared to feel very emotional just because of how many heartbreaks we went through. 1 Quote

That's another indictment on McDermott's lousy playoff defensive performances in the biggest games. and of course special teams miscues. 1 Quote
Steptide Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This is what happens when a qb has to take an entire team on his shoulders. Imagine if in the last 5 seasons the bills could actually play defense in the playoffs. I've said it and I'll keep saying it, they need to go all in. Not being able to get Garrett or metcalf sucks. Regardless though, McDermott needs to figure this defense out. 3 Quote

Regardless though, McDermott needs to figure this defense out. Another example of depending on one player to carry a team is the Bengals. Look at the year Burrow just had, and the Bengals still couldn't make the playoffs. 1. Beane needs to build a better roster especially the defense. 2. McDermott's defense needs to play better in the playoffs. To many disappointing playoff performances from the D over the years. If the above do not happen then Allen will never win a Super Bowl for Buffalo, no matter how well he plays. Quote
