New WRs are fun. I get it. It's like Christmas day when your team gets one. In fact, WRs are the most fun players in the NFL. Even more fun than QBs. I want a new one too. I live in Cincinnati, so I know how great Ja'marr Chase is and how fun that would be to have on my favorite team. I think everyone in Cincinnati has at least one Chase #1 jersey. I wanted DK too. I can rationalize why he didn't do it, but I think Beane made a mistake here. But it didn't happen. So, onward and upward. There is nothing that I can do about it but hope that they have a plan. They know that what they rolled into last season with wasn't enough. Otherwise they wouldn't have spent a third on Cooper. So, they know they need more and I expect them to get it. Because contrary to popular belief on TBD, Brandon Beane is neither developmentally delayed nor an evil genius working to make your life miserable. He wants to win. Out owner is spending the money to win and we currently have the cap space to get some dudes. Lets see what he does.

In-season trades are always bad value. That's why I hate them.

It’s pretty hilarious how every time a massive deal like this occurs… the player, the team trading the player, the team trading for/paying the player and the Cincinnati Bengals all start trending.

most importantly, he is a great locker room guy and is all about the team.

He is a perfect fit.  I hope they work out a 3 yer deal with him.  He can maximize the targets he gets with his speed and wont complain when he is not the main guy, which he wont be.

Meanwhile, when the steelers lose 17-9 at baltimore in december I am not so sure it will be a nice locker room to be in.

Agree that Slayton is the best fit for Bills now.

Mike Brown being cheap is going to cost him a lot of money, either in player salaries or reduced ticket sales.

Golly, the same guys who've been identifying the players, schemes, and coordinators(s) which go into building the game-plans just aren't getting it done the past 5 seasons with a franchise QB.  Let's give them more dollars and picks and keep seeing if it'll finally work.

But the offense...hey, they averaged 30 in the regular season.

They averaged 28 in the post season this year against two potent defenses, including what had been the best defense in the NFL the second half of the season.  It was enough to win one and should have been enough to win the other had we not been the only team to surrender 30+ points to KC the only time the whole season…you know a week before KC was down 34-0 in the SB in the first 3 quarters.

Dk's good. He isn't $30M a season good IMO. He will never live up to that contract IMO

NFL free agents (I iknow it was a trade, but the contract is a FA contract) rarely live up to their contracts. If the player was worth 30M, the drafting team would have paid it.

Everyone is assuming the offense will be just as good next year but our recievers outside of Shakir are awful.  Our overall talent outside of Josh is awful.   Hopefully free agency will be better than us not snatching up elite players available.   We shouldn't stand pat on offense even though it was good.  Keep improving.

They don’t have a quarterback so this is a confusing move

I'm willing to bet they do...we just don't know about it until Tomorrow. Be it Darnold, Rodgers....you don't make a move like this without something lines up at QB. There's a wink and nod agreement somewhere.

Rodgers could have been announced today because he was cut. I actually think that one selling point for DK would be reuniting with Russ. His best year came with him at QB. He was excellent at catching that Russ moonball.

DK Metcalf deal never materialized for Packers

I'm told the Packers never made an offer to the Seahawks for DK Metcalf, contrary to multiple reports. Brian Gutekunst and John Schneider are good friends from their time together in Green Bay, but a deal between the two for Metcalf was never a realistic possibility.

I think we all could see that at the time a Cooper type player was needed to open some things up and Beane almost had no choice to do something.

Once again we seem to have this void to fill, I guess resign Hollins, as he has been the best of the bunch Beane has cheaply tried to invest in.

I get that we averaged 30 points a game or what not but I still want to know who we can count on to step up and make a clutch catch play when needed?

I remember some Analyst saying last year Beane blindly throwing darts at the Wr position and hope something works..

I had hoped this offseason will be different but now I’m not sure how many options are left?

You can see what you want. The Bills are in an arms race they refuse to participate in.  A top 5 regular season defense (if 2025 achieves that) is fools gold in the playoffs.

And prior to the Cooper trade, it got their QB concussed, an injured hand, and 0-2 against Baltimore and Houston in Weeks 4 and 5.

Idk.  I've watched the Giants.  I've seen him flash ability for a play then disappear most of a season.   Seems very much like a jag to me.  I'd rather have old man Lockett for a year.  Or better yet, DK F'N METCALF!!!!!

well, Metcalf is def better than Slayton, but did he disappear due to QB play is the question.

I’d go Slayton due to speed and size, but him or Palmar are my top 2 guys left.  Why not add both?

I'm frustrated because it seems like we're passing on elite talent for above average.   We might as well be called the Buffalo Josh Allens.   He's pretty much the entire team.  Lots of offseason left though.
