Rousseau plus Bernard's AAV more than makes up for it. Beane chose the two solid players over the one great player. That decision is emblematic of his strategy in general and it hasn't gotten us over the hump.

That's funny. I was taking crap for saying this yesterday. Low and behold - here we are.

Once again, putting a lot of assets into a large number of pretty good players at the cost of great ones.

Which may be meaningless depending on guarantees.

Seeing as they haven’t been reported, I doubt he got over $100M guaranteed

absolutely won’t last 5 years but that allows them to fully amortize the signing bonus for the max of 5 years

id bet he’s like 60-70 but you never know. Really doubt it’s past 60% (ie 3 years)

Imo a great locker room guy is the very last thing we need.  We have those.  Give me talent.   Speed,  agility, and can catch.  I could not give 1/2 a single f about getting a stand up guy.

uh yea slayton can do all that.

plus he is not a jackass.

Yup. He will probably have a cap hit of $10M year one.

Tough day.

There is another possibility….. Beane really believes the “everybody eats” philosophy, and doesn’t want to pay receivers anymore …

It's $30M AAV, exactly what was reported. Nothing about the trade compensation or the money is shocking. This was the known asking price. Rousseau plus Bernard's AAV more than makes up for it. Beane chose the two solid players over the one great player. That decision is emblematic of his strategy in general and it hasn't gotten us over the hump.

I'm here too.  May end up being a disappointing offseason.   Pass on elite talent because it's risky to extend good talent.   *****.

$150M x 5 years for a WR who isn’t even in the top 10 in the league at his position?  Gross…and I like DK, but man that is some serious coin for a good but not really elite WR - IMHO.

I’ll go ahead and say it… Pickens?

realistically, I think kupp or cooper end up our guy on the carousel… depending on what was behind the scenes last year

This is where I'm at. I think Metcalf is good, but isn't a great player.

I had a feeling he was gonna get 30, but still feel like it's too much for him

Yes exactly like that

So missing one time on Von means never again

how’d it work out for the rams

how’d it work out for the eagles

howd it work out for the chiefs early on

thought so

Who did the Eagles swing on other than SaQuon? The vast majority of the Eagles success has come the same way the Bills are going now. Drafting and then extending. AJ Brown they traded for but that was 3 years ago, and they got him cheap.

But they drafted & extended:

Hurts

Lane Johnson

Jordan Mailata

Goedert

DeVonte Smith

Landon Dickerson

Jalen Carter

Jordan Davis

Quinyon Mitchell

Cooper DeJean

They got midlevel/cheap contracts from CGJ, Zach Baun, and James Bradberry.  They traded fpr Darius Slay in 2020 and have paid him under 15M APY.

Idk.  I've watched the Giants.  I've seen him flash ability for a play then disappear most of a season.   Seems very much like a jag to me.  I'd rather have old man Lockett for a year.  Or better yet, DK F'N METCALF!!!!!

Beane passed on DK for a second time haha

Technically 3 times lol.  Pick Oliver and Cody Ford over him.
