Who all is left at DE,DT and CB that can help us? The offense is still 1 WR short. They traded Hollins for Palmer. Palmer is an upgrade but there is still a need at WR. Otherwise, I agree (assuming the Cook situation is worked out). 3 Quote

But we got to nail down at least one defensive position with a solid starter before free agency is over. 1 good DL and CB, and head to the draft. Still think cutting Daquon is likely. I think there is a good chance we look for a S in free agency to compete. Rapp is a borderline starter, Bishop needs to take a HUGE step this offseason but I'm hopeful he'll do it. If anything we find a 3rd safety as depth 3 minutes ago, SoonerBillsFan said: We can do both. The one place where I trust Beane and McDermott is with Cornerbacks. Doesn't make alot of sense to draft and sign...but maybe. Main reason I say that is Elam. Doubt we find a trade partner. Is Beane willing to eat his entire cap hit (no savings)? Or is he still valuable as a CB3? I'm not against sign and draft, but depends who we sign. Quote

We gotta get someone who is an impact on the DL. Other teams have high paid qbs left tackles at least one reciever and an edge rusher. We have a high paid qb and LT and management is still crying poverty and cap problems. After supposedly taking our "medecine" last year apparently we didn't take enough and gotta take it again this year. And this is why we will never win a SB. 1 3 Quote

Honestly, that’s probably a good thing. The bargains typically turn out better than the big ticket items. Every FA signed to a big contract almost always underperforms in Buffalo - Von, Star, Trent Murphy (to a lesser extent). His best big free agent might have been Mitch Morse who he made the highest paid Center at the time. The mid-level free agent signings more than likely Brown, Beasley, Sanders, McGovern, Floyd etc. Of course, he’s had misses here too like all GM’s but there seems to be better value in the second or third level tier of free agents. I expect a few more to be signed tomorrow 1 Quote

Goes for the homerun in draft, but mostly doubles and a triple here and there. I think he needs to be more of a risk taker in feee agency/trades. His "grind" and built thru the draft is ideal approach, but problem is when you miss on too many 1st or 2nd rounders. He needs to "stack" talent quicker/more consecutively. 1 great draft, then 1 so so draft, isn't going to get it done....UNLESS, he swings bigger in FA/trades. 3 Quote
ngbills Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Other than KC who had Reid, Mahomes, Kelce, and Chris Jones. What Super Bowl team the past few years did not make big moves? Phi stacked the roster, SF stacked the roster, LAR stacked the roster, TB stacked the roster. The Bills have primarily rolled back out the same team rather than swing for the difference maker. The question is will that be enough to get over the hump? Seems to be the bet mcbeane is making. 1 1 1 Quote

Maybe if they go with a pure speed guy. If one of the top guys slips in 1 or 2, it is still on the table. Obviously there’s work to do on the DL still and CB2. They need another S as well. It is only day 2 of FA. 1 Quote

There are a number of 1 techs still out there and other depth guys who can help on defensive line. I could see Jones cut if they signed a guy like Dalvin Tomlinson. In terms of safety, I think they are going to roll with those guys. Not saying I agree with it, but it seems so. The position has dried up a bit so if they are going to bring in competition, I would hope it’s someone who could actually start. Justin Simmons, Reyshawn Jenkins, Marcus Epps, Julian Blackmon, Jordan Fuller…to me outside of those guys, there aren’t really anymore guys out there who would be true competition imo. 1 Quote
finn Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Picking at the end of every round is hard, but Beane hasn't shown much imagination. For example, in 2021, I wanted him to draft Creed Humphrey even though he had Mitch Morse, and take a flyer on the injured Trey Smith in the fifth or sixth round. Similarly, this year I want him to take Shannon Revel in the first round. He would have been one of the first cornerbacks taken, but he got injured last year and is still recovering. Sign Rasul or Dane Jackson for a year to let Revel recover and develop, and voila, you have one of the best young CB tandems in the league in 2026, and maybe sooner. Quote

I agree that there’s something still but at a bit of a loss for how to slot up that piece reasonably it’s generally an expensive skill set but you can’t add another guy making starter money. So either a bit of a washed vet (mecole, Mike williams… is this the last team for Brandin cooks to sign with?!?). Westbrook ikhine was probably close to that archetype today but treads towards just keeping hollins at that point? or like a 3rd rounder that can be in very precise packages? Quote
