Alec Pierce ? Colts have Pittman and Downs

 

Pierce had 37 for 824  an insane 22.3 YPR  + 7 TDs

 

I doubt Indy would move him, just a thought

 

just a random note, Keon Coleman had 19.2 YPR!!!

I’m not sure Kupp fits exactly what we really need, but I’d be interested.

Coleman was trending in the right direction until he got his "welcome to the NFL" moment from Poyer. Hope he can recover from that and continue to develop.

To me, if they are committed to changing the offense to more of a push the ball deep down field offense then Kupp isn’t the answer. If they continue to be an offense predicated on route running and precision, he is a perfect fit imo. It should be interesting to see where it goes.

DT Calais Campbell

Ignore Calais Campbell’s age. The defensive tackle is still playing at an elite level. Take one look at Campbell’s performance last season in Miami and it is evident that he has not slowed down one bit.

 

In addition to his play, Campbell is an excellent mentor. Newly paid edge rusher Greg Rousseau has referred to Campbell as one of his mentors so getting him in-house would only benefit Rousseau as well as a player like DeWayne Carter. 

Campbell’s cost should be affordable due to age and he likely wants to compete for Super Bowl in what could be his final season.

Another reason to keep an eye on Campbell? He has a great relationship with new Bills coach Ryan Nielsen. After joining the Falcons in 2023, Campbell told CBS Sports that Nielsen played a big role in his decision.

“A big part of this is Ryan Nielsen,” Campbell said on CBS Sports' podcast The Crew. “My first conversation with him, I was really impressed. The guy is a football mind.”

We got the Niners' first-round pick in '79 which ended up being #1 overall.  We took Tom Cousineau out of Ohio State.  Ralph wouldn't pay him so he went to the CFL.  When he came back we traded his rights to the Browns for their first pick in '83... with which we took Jim Kelly.

 

We had to wait eight years for the return on the OJ deal, but boy was it worth it.

Is he? Mack had 39 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and Von Miller had 17 tackles, 6 sacks, that doesn't seem to be a huge upgrade imo.

You couldn’t get a more polar opposite to the everyone ears mantra.  He’s been guilty of making his QBs look even worse than they are by running lazy routes and being totally disconnected even during a playoff run.  Great talent but I’d rather run out Mack Hollins and know what I’m getting over the emotional roller coaster and inconsistency of Pickens.  

Honestly I don’t care who we pick up I just don’t want to overpay.  I do not want us to pay average to good quality players or aging players top tier money that we are locked into.

 

I also don’t want to throw money at injury risks.  If we were going to throw money at anyone I wanted Myles or Crosby.  Not much left out there that I’d want to fully open the wallet for.

I look at it like the talent is there and it would be up to our coaches and players to get him to perform. I think he and Russ weren't on the same page last year and Pickens had issues with the offense. Is he more like Diggs than not? Probably, but IMO we need guys with talent like Pickens to win playoff games. It's up to our culture to handle personality issues.
