That’s a great question about whether they will cut him if they can’t deal him. Hadn’t looked at that.

 

Checked on that. Highly doubtful as he had over $20M of this season’s compensation guaranteed at signing. Spotrac has the notes written confusingly so I didn’t see that at first. I bet some teams are looking for SF to take some of the bonus/cap hit.

I wouldn’t think they would, but it’s also curious to me that they want to trade him, now that Deebo is gone and the deal actually isn’t bad compared to the market.

It’ll be interesting to see what he has left in the tank. Excellent DT, but is 32 and coming off a triceps injury. Early in season so he is probably healthy.

Yeah. I’m surprised too. Was told both sides are not happy with the other. No details beyond that though.

tl/dr: Owner deferred to Shannahan last year and then the team lost. The owner is less willing to spend money based upon how Kyle "feels" about players.

Are the Bills really gonna let Ty Johnson and Hollins walk? I’m sorry but that’s somewhat unacceptable to me. Those are core pieces that make big plays. I get that you don’t want to pay more than they’re essentially worth but…. You better make a big splash on defense like trade for Trey Hendrickson if you’re gonna let quality players like that walk.
