He’s not Jefferson or Chase, but he’s comfortably in the next tier. He’d far and away be the best WR on the Bills if he came here. I don’t think he will fetch much in trade due to coming off that injury and his contract. A team has to be willing to pay him though: 2025: $25M (guarantees on 4/1/25) 2026: $27M (guarantees on 4/1/25) 2027: $28M (no guarantee) 2028: $30M (no guarantee) I wonder if they want out bad enough to post June 1 cut him. The cap hit to trade him isn’t as bad, but still fairly significant. If he’s healthy, it’s not a bad contract compared to what people are going for thus far. I say flip them a 4th and tell Palmer the deal is off 😂. 2 Quote

jahnyc Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Given the available cap space this year compared to last year, I expected the Bills to come out of free agency this year with at least a new starting CB opposite Benford, a new starting tree safety, depth at DT and/or DE and possibly an upgrade at WR. It is still really early, but I am not sure there is a starting caliber CB or free safety free agent still available. At this point, I hope we are not planning to bring back Douglas, Miller and/or Hamlin. 2 Quote

Dallas is looking for a cheap RB to start is all. I think Jerry learned his lesson with Elliott to not over spend on RBs. Quote

But then you have all these pieces but are relying on a high-floor low-ceiling rookie at the most important position in team sports. I'd rather have the QB. 1 minute ago, jahnyc said: Given the available cap space this year compared to last year, I expected the Bills to come out of free agency this year with at least a new starting CB opposite Benford, a new starting tree safety, depth at DT and/or DE and possibly an upgrade at WR. It's just like when this place was absolutely convinced that we needed a MLB two years ago, but the front office and coaching staff knew what they had in Bernard. 5 2 Quote

I would think he be a top 10 pick but in todays NFL tough to say for sure. Quote
MrEpsYtown Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) Ok so day two debrief...sorry kind of long, but here is what is on my mind...note that some of these guys may have signed while I was typing this.... WR: If we still want a speed guy, a lot of those guys are still on the market, but guys who could work: WR Rondale Moore - 4.32 (young with upside...he is short but he is thick, a little meatball of muscle...his highlights are fun) WR Elijah Moore - 4:35 WR Devin Duvernay - 4.39 (released so no comp pick impact) I really think they are going to roll with Rapp and Bishop, but... Safety: Justin Reid - good player - instant starter, probably too expensive Justin Simmons - old but been a Mahomes killer Julian Blackmon - They were in on him last year Marcus Epps - Josh's teammate at Wyoming would be a solid depth add Reyshawn Jenkins (he could be a sneaky add as he has connections to some of the staff here and he got released so no comp pick. versatile) to me Jenkins makes the most sense as a third guy... DL There are a bunch of D - line guys: A logjam of older vets who can get you a few sacks: Bosa, Preston Smith, Z'darius Smith, Donte Fowler... Other mid/interesting adds: John Cominsky - one guy the cover 1 dudes were talking about, he is like Hoect in that he is a small school dude who is versatile and can play all over the DL. Kentavius Street - another versatile guy who has ties to Ryan Nielsen James Lynch - a former Baylor Dave Aranda guy who has versatility across the front Young busts with maybe some upside: Payton Turner - bust, but young and has ties to Nielsen Joe Tryon - another bust who is young and maybe interesting Josh Uche - young bust with upside K'Lavon Chaisson - young bust, maybe some upside For 1 tech: Raekwon Davis - monster of a human who I liked at draft time who has not put it together. i'd take a shot. he was released so no comp pick Greg Gaines - fire hydrant NT formerly of the Rams and Bucs Leki Fotu - formerly of the Jets, another behemoth human Corner: Asante Samuel Jr...sound like they are in on him. he is excellent in zone, smallish, but I don't hate it Jonathan Jones - Former Pat whose coach is now here. Would be a stopgap guy, but can still ball and should be cheap Eric Stokes - Young, very fast, has had issues staying healthy. By all accounts, he was going to be their pick in the 2021 draft. Jeff Okudah - overdrafted, but young and fast and still has upside Benjamin St-Juste - Big long corner who has some experience in a similar system playing for Ron Rivera Kristian Fulton- Another young with upside guy RB: Hopefully we can bring back Ty, but I am assuming Ty is gone, we need a new third down back: Travis Homer - really good on third downs, similar size and speed to Ty, he blocks. Really good on special teams Kenneth Gainwell - from the Eagles, versatile and does a lot of things well Raheem Blackshear - former Bills UDFA, he was not tendered by the Panthers, but he was pretty good in a third down role. No comp pick impact That what I got for the day! Edited 19 hours ago by MrEpsYtown 10 8 Quote

The issue for the 49ers, I believe, is that he has a large roster bonus coming up -- and if they designate him as a post-June 1 cut, I believe they are responsible for paying him that bonus (even if he is picked up by another team). Personally, I would prefer a healthy Ayiuk over Metkalf -- and we just saw the large contract (plus trade compensation) the Steelers gave up for Metkalf. Of course, the operative word there is "healthy", and the injury that Ayiuk experienced last season was devastating. 1 Quote

I’m with you, WHEN HEALTHY, I’d take him over Metcalf, but is he going to return to form? It’s a huge gamble, but bc of that, I’d assume the capital to trade for him would have to be low. If they would move him for a 4th or less, I’d run the risk and just tell Palmer, sorry man, good luck out there. Quote
