I hope you are right. Not sure Palmer is WR1 in the definition of WR1 based upon his past. He can play outside and get separation which is something we sorely needed. He’ll fit into everyone eats though.

Hopefully, Samuel, Coleman and Dalton take a big leap forward this year which should help Palmer and vice versa.

I don't think the Bills are worried about having a number one WR so much as they want to complete their set, which Palmer can do.

WR A - Coleman - Big bodied, jump ball, run blocker, YAC

WR B - Palmer - Outside threat with deep speed and separation

WR C - Shakir - Slot, hands, safety valve, YAC

This checks the boxes for every type of need and keeps the "everybody eats" mentality

Don’t think so either but can play the X and has to be respected by the Defense. He’ll be a big upgrade filling  the Mack snaps. (We all appreciate Mack effort but the defense didn’t respect him as a WR)

this move allows Keon And Shakir play their best rolls with Samuel subbing at all 3 spots. Still would like Beane to bring in a true speed guy (sub 4.4) to threaten deep and round out the WR room. That may come in the draft.

Feels like a generally very lackluster free agency period. It's been a larger and larger theme the past 15ish years where truly elite players just aren't hitting free agency. Players with 1 year left on their deals are taking extensions if teams are offering them a lot more frequently. Teams are also jumping on the chance to retain players on more reasonable deals given their leverage makes those kinds of deals better.

Maybe some years just don't have a great crop of free agents but it feels like a downward trend for years now. Bills doing a decent job not over investing in good but not great players thus far. Gotta go bargain hunting once the initial shock is over.

there are at least half a dozen that are going to be more impactful than whoever we draft

That's not saying much. I'm sorry but this team needs impact players not mid tier guys like they signed today.

I absolutely agree.  I really want significant upgrades at DT and Edge. Hopefully via trade albeit unlikely.

I know many on here won’t agree, but on offense Cooper Kupp could be one for us.

It would be like giving Josh a souped up version of Beasley. Yes, I know we have Shakir and want to keep him on the field. Get creative.

If not Kupp, I hope Beane is calling around trying to see if a very good WR could be available.

would we take a chance on trading for Pickens? I doubt it. I’d be weary of his antics. But the guy is capable of being ELITE with Josh

Tee Higgins? What’s the cost of a trade on the franchise tag?

Or maybe there is another WR out there who could be dealt that no one has talked about

Hyde and poyer were considered mid tier guys when we signed them

How often to mid tier guys get to that level? Regardless I would have rather this team pay for some elite talent for once.

What if the cost for Hendrickson is

2nd in 2025, 1st in 2026

4 years 150 million

that’s my guess and I would do it.

I would too. Something tells me it's unlikely to happen. It's a similar contract as DK and they passed on that.
