One thing I'm noticing, and maybe it's just the platform, but Schefter reports everything on Twitter. While Rapoport is selective on what he reports on Blue Sky, mainly sticking to what his NFL Network compadres report.

Where do any of those outside of Josh fall with regards to anywheres close to being elite? We can thank Daboll for that as well.

 

Bernard had a good first year starting,  year 2 he fell hard.

 

Cook, who i do like and all, but his numbers don't say elite to me, but that's for another topic. He imo is shinning for that big contract. His numbers before last year were pedestrian. 

 

Benford- let's not forget who we drafted in the first round that year! Where is that guys development?

 

Shakir- i love the guy, but 2nd option, most likely 3rd wr is where he falls on most other teams that aren't picking in the top 10 of the draft.

The reason I bring up Holland is we have all this available money and nothing to spend it on. It feels like a waste not to use all of our resources in this championship window. He's the only big ticket item I see remaining that makes sense for our roster, although I'm not in love with the idea of spending big at the safety position.

 

Ward I don't consider a splash move per se. I would be fine with it though. My preference is a cheap vet and then draft one high but there's a clear need there. Is Benford in their long term plans? If not then I would be more in favor of signing Ward, but if he is then I'd rather not have two expensive CBs under contract at the same time.

I’m in the trade market if I’m the Bills. They have $ to spend and nowhere to spend it. The window is wide open. I’d be looking to average to bad teams, with new leadership. Give them picks in exchange for veterans that don’t fit their timelines. What would it take to get Travon Walker from the Jags for example?

If there is a franchise who would trade them to an In conference opponent it would by Mike Brown.

That makes me jealous.  If I ran a team i think I would sign qb's of this ilk every year and then make deals like this the next year.  

 

Signing trey lance for nothing and then talking him up in practice all year could lead to a desperate team throwing you a late 4 or 5 the following year.

This isn't Madden. Players have their own brains and who knows why they choose team x over y even if the money is the same.

honestly I haven't noticed anyone doing that.  Just the usual number 1 wr mumbo jumbo but other than that it seems pretty calm here.

With Benford taking 2 concussions in a weeks span and having to be carted off the field after the 2nd - I wonder if there isn't concern over how he bounces back from that? I'd have assumed he would have been done by now. If they're leery of giving him a long term contract extension for whatever reason, combined with the fact that we have a gaping hole on the other side - i'd expect to see something more than a journeyman starter brought in.

He was going to get a ton. He was the top available Free Agent CB (after DJ Reed) and CB's aren't cheap. You aren't getting a deal on a stud starting Corner.
