We got 2 starting DTs plus a meh rookie and 2 future reserve players. We rotate 4. So unless Beane gets a FA DT, he's going to need to spend 2 draft picks on the position.

Maybe we’ll change how we rotate players on the DL?

That is BIG $$$ for Sweat.

A guy I think would fit in well here as a depth piece, and not have a huge $$$ tag, is Darrell Taylor. He had 9.5 sacks for Seattle one year and is only about to be 28. He would essentially replace Smoot.

It’s less than I thought he’d get.  Two years GTD at 20.5m per and the opportunity to earn probably another 15m per on the back end, depending on structure.  His injury history must have spooked some people.  Or he really wanted the combo of weather and Gannon.

Looks like Dyami Brown just got $10M from Jax, and it's worth up to $12M. That $12M is basically what we just gave Palmer.

Seems like Pitt, NE and Chicago have been the most active in FA thus far spending like drunken sailors. I get Chicago as they need to upgrade their roster to compete in a deep NFC North.

So running it back…we’re like the Elmer Fuds of the NFL.  I’ll get you…you pesky Chiefs.

At least the Chiefs are losing better players than they’re gaining.

Chicago has been signing defensive free agents every offseason for 30 years.

Eagles rotated from a good staple. We have holes at DE too. So I don't see them rotating inside to DT. Be nice to see a plan. Of course this is just day 1. But so far, not inspiring.

Don't like the Palmer signing at all.  He has played with a very good QB with the Chargers (Herbert) and has not done much.  I don't get this one.

In a Jim Harbaugh offense.

Is it?

Comes in less than Rousseau in both total contract and guaranteed money.

I honestly expected a little more. I'm disappointed we didn't do this deal. But considering he's reuniting with his former Defensive coach and he went to a warm weather team (don't know if that was a priority for him or not, but it could have been) - we may not have had a shot.

Very good?  i'm not sure Herber is even 5th best in the conference.  Ill say +9 yards per target the past two years aint nothing either.  Happy for him to be that efficient on 60 targets here.  That puts him right behind Coleman and Cooper last year which is where I would expect him as an X receiver.

Josh Sweat is very comparable career arc to Rousseau.  He’s also 3 years older

Laremy Tunsil traded to the Commanders for picks.

Washington definitely needed OL help.
