It was a bad trade in hindsight. We might get a draft pick back though in compensatory form but yes I think after watching it I’d rather have the 3rd round pick this year Quote

Built up some extra cap space, then used it to overpay some players. Those players helped us turn things around pretty quickly. Even though it only took a couple seasons by that time most of the salaries were in line with the market (Morse). There are always some misses though, sometimes bad ones (coughSTARcough). Of course a lot of teams try it and don’t turn things around. Just have to wait and see how it works out for them. Quote

Thus far, there isn’t anyone that I feel has been a huge miss by the Bills. Sweat and or Ward are the two in my radar. Same, but I can see us not getting them based on how much FA’s far worse than them are getting. Someone is gonna pay Von $25m at this rate 🤢 Quote

Those that say he's not worth 30 million, are not familiar with the market. DK and Tee Higgins have a similar skill set. I would say Tee Higgins is better than DK in the short to Intermediate game, but both excel as vertical threats. Difference there. Is that DK is elite. 30M is right on par for a top 15WR. If he was in that 1st tier, we would be talking about a number closer to 40M, which is what most expect Jamar Chase to get. We still desperately like difference makers. Had we sent Seattle our 2nd. And sweetened the deal just a tad, we could've been left with our sole focus on the defense for the draft. I hope Beane has something big in the works. And that I'm eating crow tomorrow. Where I disagree is that DK is not elite in my book. Sure, I would have liked to have him, and was banging the drum to draft him, and he is a good player, but I would never use the word "elite" with him. And $33M a year for a guy not even in the top 10 is way too much IMHO. Most importantly, we just fielded the 16th best offense in NFL history...Allen had his best season and first MVP season as a pro, we were a ref screw job away from a SB despite the pathetic showing of our defense again. And we did that all without an over paid bloated WR contract who has a limited route tree. What DK does best for this team is create a vertical threat...but we don't need to spend $33M a season to get a vertical threat here. End of the day, the meat of this offense and what it does best isn't what DK brings to the table. Make no mistake about it, we do need to add a vertical threat...but I do not for a second feel like it had to be DK even though I was all for adding DK, just not at the cost it eventually became. There are some guys in the draft, all gettable guys, who I really like...so I am not going into today thinking we are screwed because we didn't over pay for DK. I also still like someone such as Slayton or even fine bringing Cooper back as long as its paired with drafting someone too. 3 Quote
